just do it fatz. then you can track that too.

you wouldnt...

the porkas steer very well would be brutal on tyre costs

My concern with the 2nd hand Euro stuff is parts prices.

ones with factory warrenty can be extended to 8 years and 200k so not a problem

Pete doesnt want the Turbo Cayenne to tow with...he wants to put the running gear in an R31 :whistling:

good idea

Can't go past a towrag, got two (TD) in my garage and both are just brilliant for towing.

Not overly expensive for servicing etc either although I haven't had to replace much as yet...

td rag is on the shortlist

really need to organis test drives with the race car trailer on the back

^^^^^ lol I have the just superseded one and it's great.

Lots of one eyed folks here though lol

Mine has cost me $68 in repairs in 80,000klm, runs low 14's on qtr, high 6's to 100, and the Hemi sounds great.

Brand new ones are very very good value too, but there is a wait, people are realizing.

Would buy another, but mine looks and feels new.

My new Diesel Grand Cherokee is being delivered on Saturday morning. The new GC is quite a different beast with a new motor and vastly improved build quality with Fiat ownership.

The new diesel is an unknown quantity.

I'm happy to discuss the pros and cons of each model, but Jeep Garage is likely a more appropriate forum ;)

Yeah, you're right.... just pro-actively bragging about my new tow car!!

were talking about gliders in a thread about high-flow turbos over in the FI section.

My uncle has a few year old Grand Cherokee, pull the bike/boat trailers like a boss. he picked it up cheap too.

So its something I'm considering down the track, because im not a shmancy flamin mongrel like fatz

Personally, as much as I like the thought of a Cayenne turbo, mentally I can't stomach paying silly money for what is becoming an old car done a hundred plus.

Non turbo ones aren't as quick as my shitter jeep.

Seriously though, the newly released Jeep is unbeatable value, and shares HEAPS with the yet to be released new ML Merc.

cool cool, so the one my uncle has is the 4.7 then.

They also came out with a High Output motor - better for acceleration in towing (which mine lacked), but still asking a premium on the 2nd hand market.

Very cheap for a standard V8, but careful of the maintenance - that's what caused me to sell mine (there are many people that had a dream run too).

For what it's worth I have Audi Q7 TDI, 176 kw/550nm towing GTR 34 / trailer all up 2100kg does it easy

Also have VW Touareg V10 TDI 230kw/750nm towing horse trailer all up 3200kg does it unstressed. Pardon the pun, horses for courses. Have driven new Jeep CRD, motor ok but not up to Audi/Porsche/VW TDI in terms of smoothness, low noise and economy.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
