Was looking at these mags:

94509371.jpg

But they only come in 9inch wide - is that too wide for my r32 GTST at the front? - i dont want guard rub

And would i be able to stretch 215/40/17's on them too?

And lastly, my cars not low at all - so would that aid in being able to fit them?

They are 17x9 - 30 offset

Im not clewed up on mags, so it really is a guessing game for me...

are you sure it's -30 and not +30?

there is no chance -30 will look anything short of ridiculous, but +30 is achievable.

i wouldn't personally put 215s on there but if you were so inclined you could

+1

9inch +30 with scrub on the rear (if lowered). Will need to roll the guards or have some negative camber.

They will also scrub on the front depending on height.

I had +30 8inch on the front with 235/45 tyres and it would scrub. Dropped to 225 and scrubbing went away. Yours are 1inch wider so would scrub much easier in my opinion.

9inch +30 is the same design as R33 GTR rims. So best to ask any r32 gtst owner with r33 gtr rims and they will tell you a deffinite answer on fitting.

I have R33 GTR wheels on an R32 gtst with 245/45 rubber, standard-ish ride height with stiffer shocks & springs, i had to get rears rolled (not lipped) and have had no scrubbing what so ever.

Front is a different story..... 245's on the front, standard guards untouched, only when i hit a big dip or bump does it slightly scuff something on the tyre, it hasn't chopped sidewalls (I cannot see any damage what so ever to the tyre's), i use to have a pair of tyre's on the front with worn shoulders and it never scrubbed once over anything.

Tyre's rubbing shouldn't be your main concern, just slap 235's maximum on them and you should be fine with standard-ish ride height. (My 245's stick out front the guards at the front and would probably be deemed unroadworthy, next set of tyres are going to be 235's)

I would worry about the +30 offset rims effecting your roll centre and what it does to your steering & suspension.

+30 changes your roll centre and steering becomes more 'darty' over ruts and divets on the road. (each front wheel wants to roll around bumps instead of travelling up and down over them). This means constant corrections have to be made to keep it going straight. 12 months have past with the wheels on and i have had to replace steering rack bushes from all the extra movement in the rack.

Other bushes at the front have probably been prematurely worn because of the wheels.

They look fat and grip great on the twisties and track but are very compromised on the road.

More solid steering rack bushes at the front have helped quite a bit but I wouldn't recommend +30 offset on a car that has to be driven daily in the city unless you like the steering wheel jumping out of your hands.

Just my 2 cents

i had the tramlining issue with 235/45's on my +30 rims. Steering wheel would pull into any ruts in the road etc, was annoying to drive with.

However after dropping to 225/45, adjustable camber bushes, adjustable castor bushes and a proper alignment, the tram lining disappeared and have no issues.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
