what is it with 300rwkw?

is that new new "in" thing?

whats the 300rwkw going to be used for?

never understood this measurement of wanting 300rwkw!

I had basic bolt on mods and got a very responsive 254rwkw on a stock, unopened motor which suited track and daily driving (didnt drive it daily but easily do-able if only car)

my reason for that is... my mate just bought a 290kw holden ute, I was thinking of getting a GTP which puts out over. If i could get it up to 310rwkw i'd be stoked

other peoples reasons would prob be similar.. 350 is overkill, 250 is sweet but 300 is impressive/borderline stupid :P + 300 is just rounded... no one's gonna go round saying I want 289rwkw :teehee:

Depends what you want...

Starts at

1. Gates Racing Timing Tensioner Kit (includes belt, Idler and Seals)

2. 6x NGK Iridium Plugs

3. Oil Filter

$495

+ Water pump

$80

so about $600 delivered...

Non genuine parts...

the original water pump from nissan is $400 alone.

also how much do u think install on those parts are??

anyways...better if ppl can get it cheaper...i went original on all items...except hp belt.

Yeah it's not nissan... it's powermax, just as good in my opinion...

wouldn't have a clue on install, probably depends on location...

I suppose if ur in Sydney tweakit would do a deal if ur buying the parts through them...

ah so its bragging rights!

haha yeap, that and the feel of sitting in a beast of a machine :D

I know it's pretty fast and the furious styles but nos is another thought.. with the little spray nozzles on the side of the hood.. the little shelf in the boot is gagging for a bottle!

310rwkw parked at the lights... some petrolhead in a rumbley beast beside ya gives it a rev... squirt squirt rev rev back at him

as if he wouldn't feel shit run down his leg just before he sucks on your smoke :)

ahhh one day!

Untill he flicks the sirens on an bye bye car and licence. :)

hahaha yeah well theres just some things you gotta do... good point tho, bloody laws.

years ago ppl used to drive plastered, and now we can't leave a bit of a black mark. Any cops around these parts?? would you throw the book at me if I shot a squirt and left a black mark up until 80 then backed off? not exactly doing dough doughs at a 3 way intersection on a 100km highway. The law could prob still apply the same, especially when theres no real reason to have nos.. A fine of say.. 1% years earnings would be a better way to control it I think... couple of those babies and ppl would chill out a bit.

we gotta have a bit of fun.. who honestly doesn't like seeing a farkin sweet ride lay a patch.. honestly..

concentrate on those shit boxes spitting crap smoke.. can't make it over 100 without a wheel falling off.

my 2 cents for today :D

Yeah I love seeing skids too........on a race track / car show.

I threw a beer bottle at some knob in a commodore drifting up and down my street when my car was parked out the front...and he wondered why I did it, after he nearly hit it a couple of times.

yeah thats retarded by him... i'm talkin quick stabs up a highway from lights man not pretending your lowndesy.

used to be alright/ very minor offence untill dickstains like your mate commodore driver got behind a wheel.

drifting anywhere is dangerous... doesn't take much to spit your car out the otherway. keep that stuff for the closed roads!

dis the gates timing belt.. waste of $300 + there.. just get urself a standard nissan OEM timing belt for $100.. gate belts squeek n stretch anyway.. n the blue rubs off...

???

Mine doesn't squeek and hasn't stretched...

none of the blue outer rubbed off...

Gates belt is only $100 aswell...

my tuner recommends never revving out a high powered engine with just a standard timing belt...your sorta asking for it.

Other than RB30DET's, I have never ever used anything other than a standard Nissan timing belt on an RB.

Since we are on the topic of someone asking to make 300+

Sorry for the wee hijack

But i have been willing to ask this question for a long time now....I have a R33 S1 RB25DET with all the support mods done....ie ecu, injectors, fuel pump, coil packs, fmic, exhaust and atm i am still running a stock turbo on 12psi making [email protected] was thinking of rebuilding/highflowing my stock turbo with Garrett 3071R internals.....i know that it can be done....so just wondering with the stock comp housing how much would i be making out of that turbo setup....i am not chasing 300+rwkw out of my unopened Rb25....just want 250-270 with monster response.....hence why highflowing....car is not a daily either but a weekend warrior lol....

Being in SA you get defected for having anything aftermarket on your car so keeping the stock looking turbo will certainly help.....

Thanks

might get 250kw, unlikely to get 270 out of a high flow.

As i said the aim for the power is of little importance to me....250-270 would be perfect but it doesnt really phase me that much....as the response would just like BANG.....lol i will be happy with a decent power increase and making it look all stealth

It's the "in" thing, just like PC geeks boosting about how much shet they can fold on that SETI@Home BS and what their 3DMark score is.

Honestly with 250rwkw you already run out of road, it's enough to kill you, it's enough to do alot of damage, even to V8s

300rwkWs on an auto isn't going to be cheap, I'm seeing at 10k worth of mods already.

Turbo, Injectors, AFM, Fuel Pump, AfterMarket ECU, Dump & Down Pipe, Exhaust, FMIC is around 6k+ already

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
