hey 665dan, have you got the panels ready for the reverse lights?

im not fussed about having to heat the lens to be able to fit them etc, just after the actual panels.

cheers

I'm steering away from panels for now due to the inconsistancy of pulling the lamp apart, I should have a multi SMD tower though for the reverse lamp that will be 100% plug 'n' play these should be VERY VERY VERY bright in comparison to the stock bulb.

Also in the works are brake light conversions, not sure how this is going to work as it may have to be installed by me (which is a pain for you guys) I'm trying to make that as a kit though. As it will be 90% plug 'n' play

Still the same deal with heating the light housing to pull apart, but easier with the brake light units. These kits will be for the R32, R33 and R34's

This is a rough idea of what it will look like, most likely a lot cleaner vivid red with a more circular thinner light, at night very similar looks to the HSV GTS brake lights, but with more points of light.

The R34 coupe will have 33-39 LEDs in the smaller circle and 42 LEDs in the larger circle

Oh my god! Do want.

DAN666 - Do you suppose you'll do them for R34 Sedan as well?

(Depending on cost, I reckon I'd be more than happy to post up to you to convert if that's what it takes... ) I've looked at options from ImportMonster/YahooAuctions, but it's crazily expensive and seems about the only options for LED tail-lights on sedan :)

Yep will be doing sedans as well, as I said I'll do my very best to get the kits DIY though :)....but yep it's not going to be majorly expensive to get them reg post each way and for me to fit them.

The problem I see currently is all of the R34 LED brake lights that are sub $500 are ugly as sin with regards to the LED pattern/plastics used and the miss-use of chrome plated plastics and clear lenses. The factory light is a great looking light, so basing the kits in one of them gives the perfect mix of a quality part with a decent LED arrangement.

If anyone is interested I've received 4 pairs of the replacement reverse lamp bulbs, basically same output as the tungsten bulb but in HID WHITE.

They're a direct replacement (tabs do need to be squeezed together to grip the LED base better) $22.50 delivered for the pair.

Yeah the inner one isn't meant to actually be that bright as it isn't connected to the braking circuit, it will remain as a "parker" just I wired them both up on the braking side to test.

Will try and do another pic soon, I've taken them apart again

Keep us appraised :3some:

I'm real curious to see what you come up with on the sedans - especially if you can do something for the reverse lights / blinkers which sit below the round lights .. (most Japanese versions I've seen set up square clusters of LEDs there)

*shakes fist at Jenna* Don't you know I've got a massive presentation tomorrow :D Haha I'm procrastinating badly with these lights, put them back together to get the "parker" photo and braking photo. I'll most likely dim the lights down for the "parker" as it is brighter than the stock light and doesn't provide enough of a difference when braking. (just goes from too bright to stupid bright) But hey, that's what prototyping is all about! :D

No doubt i'll have them finished and fitted by the weekend though :)

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
