Yo lol,

Lately Ive been buying older cars as my daily bashes and leaving my pride and joy at home for the times I go out. Just wondering what are some cool cars you can buy for 5K and under. They don't have to be cool and fun, they just have to be one or the either. Don't care about age of the car.

List Em lol

You could probably pick up a pretty COOL and FUN S13 Silvia for 5K.

So what is your pride and joy nowadays? Do you still have your 34?

Yeah all the S13's are auto though, i might have to fight to get a manual s13 or a 180 for 5k, but I've been thinking about them. Sold the R34 ages ago, now my baby is a Mercedes C200 Kompressor.

5k, you could get a fully sick V8 VN commo... With like 400,000kms on the clock, and uses more oil than fuel... :pirate:

Nah seriouslly, a mini... So much fun... Bit of a death trap, but still so much fun...

PS> If you taller than 6 foot 3 inchs, forget the mini...

5k could buy a shitty series 5 RX7 turbo... Cost you a packet to be realiable and will get stolen first time you leave it in a carpark...

5k could buy a late 90's pulsar... Good little run about, good on fuel, does wicked FWD skids with handbrackies...

5k could go towards a R31 skyline, then with the change put a turbo on it... Or do a Rb20/25 conversion if you buy one real cheap...

Jes i could go on for days...

5k could buy a reasonable Honda CB500, which will kill verything on fuel economy...

5k could get you into an early 00 600cc Sports bike, which will kill 95% of the cars on this forum...

Im gonna stop now!

ke70 rolla?

Ford Escort although decent ones are hard to come by especially in aus

S13 as mentioned. ive seen a fair few on car sales for 5k that are manual

mx5?

Your mum?

Thats all i got...

Ill trade you my mum for any female in your family, if you got a sister she will do just fine.

I had one of the old mid 90's corolla hatches with the 100kw engine. That went like buggery, handled surprisingly well and was as reliable as anything.

And not too ugly either. The chicks, they dug it. Had to keep the windows wound up to stop screamingly horny women from throwing themselves into the passenger seat whenever I stopped at the lights.

Can a 121 do wicked handbrake skids?

If yes, please continue...

You could always get a couple of maccas trays and....

No I won't go into that, I'd imagine if you're after a daily you want something that you're not going be targeted in by the police.

As i great man once said f*k DA POLICE lol Nah don't care about cop attention either.

gt starlet, they are good bang for buck imo. also maybe a corolla with 4agze or 20V conversion. u still might be able to find one for about 5K. or daihatsu charade turbo, some honda with engine swap for say H22a or something.

look for cool kei cars, but coz they are rare to be the turbo import versions in oz, im sure they woudl want more for them.

or just buy this one lol

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
