is that your car in a protek?

im hopping for 380awkw with my setup an -5's if that is you car in protek have a look at mine in there white r33 gtr give you an idea

Question: Was that not with the 0.86 A/R rear housings?

Nope.

HKS 2530's have done virtually the same power in a number of cars as well, being the turbos are same/similar/close enough, its easily plausible on a motor that is built right.

Most punters/motors however, 380-400rwkw. Takes something special to get much more

Presently at 570 rwhp (425 rwkw). HKS2.8L, 272 Step 2 cams, oversize valves, heaps of head porting and around 1.8 bar of boost on my dash 5's.

On 98 pump fuel that's about the limit of what you can expect from these terbs. (Hell responsive 'tho! :D)

Shiitt thats like 27-28psi and those turbos can handle that healthly???? everyday drive ??

It's probably at (or past) the upper limit of the efficiency of these turbos.

Engine in this configuation would be no problems for a daily driver as there is plenty or torque. In fact around town I'm lazy and normally only use 1st, 3rd and 5th gears. I have shorter GTS4 diff centers, however, so that makes a difference also.

what part of the turbo do you think is going to break from using more boost?

Sorry not brake but comparing to life of the engine, is there much diff in using less boost or high boost if u have strengthend internals that is

Not really - if it build right.

However, my guess is your motor probably wont be going to such extremes unless you are spending some very serious cash.

Gav's motor isn't a cheap one, lots of work, effort and parts to get it to that level.

Most 'builds' around the 10-12k marker wont come close to a 2.8 stroker, bigger valves, head work and everything else.

very nice... yeh well im up around 14k with tune and build lol Thats NOT with the internals still internals need to be done but then thats it.Another 6k and i should be happy BUt im not going to stroke it.. i wonder how much max healthy boost i can give it with out the stroker kit

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
