just a word of warning about powder coating there are alot of places that do it but you really need to go to a wheel repair place who knows the right powder coater.

reason powder coating is an art & if mix wrong or baked to long problems happen like chiping from stress (you know good powder coating when you can hit it straight on & it doesn't chip). also wheels need to be beed blasted (not sand) to give paint a good surface to grip (my ZZR1100 wheels are powder coated blue & you can smash then & no chips because they were done right)

i didn't mention it because the place i got my bike wheels done is a old friend but he is as slow as a squashed snail getting anything done & i don't know if he does car mags but his buss is spoked wheel repairs 9153 9700 peakhurst.

he has strip tank & beed blasting then he sends away for powder coating (he has some person he uses but he tends not to let on because he wants money)

before giving over your wheels to anybody ask to look at some they have done but most wheel repair places spray 2 pak & clear no powder coat.

hope this helped.

I got quotes ranging from $80 - $120 per rim to remove gutter rash and restore the finish on some 17" GTR rims.

I sent photos to the guys at www.rebelwheels.com.au for one quote and they were very helpful. [email protected].

peakhurst is a shit load closer to where i live, but i like the idea of online quotes!!!

    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
