Make sure you get a Genuine Garrett "-IW" internal gate rear housing - Not some cocked up/ported piece of shit.

That is where the boost control problems come from.

If it is not a 100% .63 Garrett -IW housing - do NOT buy it no matter what you are told.

i have a 2835 which is a modified 3071 with IW and it holds to 1 psi all day every day

Well - fancy that!

why would anyone want 1 psi?

Morning LOLZ

I reckon a GCG Hi flow or a Garrett GT2871R cartridge in the std RB25 housings - the 48 or 52T ones only . Prefer the OP6 turbine housing .

If GCG everything is re used so nothing to buy apart from gaskets and copper washers . Garrett cartridge uses all different fluid fittings but are same as SR20 GT25 ones - cheap second hand and look factory funnily enough .

Consider a 4.4 ratio diff to light it up more easily .

A .

Just to reinforce the IW issue..

Mine ran 20psi (full boost by 3K~) and only ever creeped to 21 - 21.5psi after 6K, but the profec brought it back.

Would strongly recommened a used HKS GTRS if one can find it. Even though this thread is years old, people new to forced induction would find a lot of this useful information.

Disco, your knowledge of turbos never ceases to amaze.

I actually used to have a Disco potato on my Astra Sri-T, lol. Good bit of kit.

Ty.

i also believe a gt30 is the way to go.

even better if you spend an extra 1k for a rb30....youll make the turbo kick in earlier, with less boost and more power.

hopefully your not running a rb20....

lol another 1k for an rb30.

good joke
