So been almost a month since I've updated this thread. Few bits going on here and there.

I've almost completed the GTR front end conversion. Just need to source a GTR bonnet that people dont want half a years salary for. (Excuse the shitty S2 bonnet on it

I also decided to fatten up the rear quarters a bit. I tolled up welding in GTR rear panels but thought it too much work for now so i cheap'd out and just bought some over fenders. Quick test fit

I also picked up some fender washers as well, which might add a nicer touch

Can't wait to see more updates :)

You've defintely helped out too as I am looking to go RB25/30, although I'm keen to Tomei Stroker it and make it RB25/34 :D

Also, was thinking of getting a precision turbo, good to see they are good turbo's!

:thanks:

3 months without an update. Well to say thats slack is putting it lightly.... The build was put on hold for a little while as i was moving from one second job to another and spare car funds were very low. All back up and going now trying to get this car finish...

Not entirely sure where i should be starting on this update so here goes. We will start with Gearbox

After much searching I ended up deciding to throw an Auto in the car for drag racing (not sure if this has been mentioned) Found a TH400 from VIC that seemed to fit the bill nicely and it came from a VL so already had the right housing etc and was 1000hp rated with a 5800 stall. No pics of box sorry. I also sourced a B&M Magnum shifter to go with it.

Heres a photo of it test fitted with an R33 auto gear surround instead of the B&M case

Next up we have the progress on the coilpack setup .I was gonig to originally go with a massive ugly looking external setup but in the end i really wanted something that could fit into the valley with the cover on and would give a lot more grunt than your standard Splitfires. Credit must be paid to Noel who is an Ex SAU QLD Pres and all round top bloke who gave me a great idea and allowed me to clone his coilpack setup. Combo is

LS2 Truck Coil
Springs from stock coils
2JZ silicone boots

Bit of love shown to these and they sit ontop of plugs like splitfires and under the valley cover

    • The trigger kit I have is similar to the one in the link below. While going through Facebook, I saw someone else mention a similar issue, and I’m starting to think this could be related to the crank gear itself. I understand these parts are CNC machined, but maybe some earlier versions or individual pieces might have slight inconsistencies—it just doesn’t look right in my case. https://www.facebook.com/share/16an8evZd9/?mibextid=wwXIfr I originally installed the crank gear using the thin OEM washer, but as shown in the attached photo, the timing belt walks very close to the edge. When I tried using a Nitto washer—which is thicker—it actually made the issue worse. The belt walks about 1mm off the front edge, which raises more concern about alignment.   I’ve gone through the full process of elimination:   The tensioner pulley and bolt are brand new and installed correctly. The bolt isn’t bent and is oriented properly. The back of the tensioner and the idler pulley are clean and seated correctly. The idler sits slightly more forward, which I understand is due to its design. I’ve experimented with both tight and loose belt tension, but it makes no difference. As soon as the engine runs, the belt immediately walks forward again—even if I reset it beforehand.     At this point, I’m considering replacing the crank gear with your Race Version 1 (12-tooth), but before purchasing, I wanted to ask:   Are you aware of any alignment issues when using this gear? Would this gear help keep the belt aligned correctly, or could the walking still occur? Does it work with a standard missing-tooth crank and rear washer? Is there any specific crank setup or install procedure required?     For reference, I’m not using a front washer, as the PRP crank gear seems to replace the need for one.   Looking forward to your advice.
    • Yep, looks that way. Never driven an E30 or R31 so I can only imagine
