How's the storm damage count goes? It was such a big storm last night, many cars in our car park got flooded. My bro's brand new Accord Euro got wet carpet at the back. My car was still dry, luckily somehow....

All downstair (ground floor) neighbours were flooded. We're on first floor and lucky no leak from above. The weather bureau said there might be another storm tonight, I just hope it won't be as bad as last night.

Hope everyone is ok...

i almost got myself into trouble last nite at about 3am on springvale rd infront of the glen. saw there was alot of water on the road but a small truck was driving thru so i decided to give it a go in my mums 02 corolla. drove a third of the way thru and thought to myself "what have i got myself into". the water level started at 30cm deep then right in the middle got to about 70cm....when i saw one of those garbage bins floating on the road, thats when i started to shiit myself:D kept the revs up so water wouldnt get up the exhaust and stall the engine and somehow got out. just hopin theres no damage to the engine itself.

my cars fine... it was outside all night too... didnt get any hail in our area... if its going to be like last night im heading to the beach to take more pics heheh

Is there a chance of any damage to a car's mechanical when water rose up to door sill level, which means half the rim is soaked, and all underneath of car will be immersed with water including oil sump?

That's the level in our carpark... my car was soaked up to door sill but lucky water still doesnt get in. 1 cm higher it would have been in.

2 of my mates cars were seized when their cars got bogged in waist deep of water.

my car was under a car port, so no hail damage, although my gutters are in all sorts of wierd shapes and the corrugated aliminum sheets on top of my shed look like swiss cheese. All plant life around the house has been destroyed (they'll grow back) coz the branches are broken etc. but that's about it. No major damage.

Car is perfectly fine. Oh my TV antenna ended up in my neighbours lawn...

what's worse was my mum came from syd today and I told her that we had a hailstorm and flash flood, and she looked around (after the SES crew had cleaned up n the bright sunshien had dried everything up) looks at me ang goes "sure there was..."

Just washed the car today....

Upon closer inspection looks like I've copped some hail damage on the roof. Not really a dent, but if you look at it the surface ripples a little bit where it has been pounded by the ice...

Can't see much on the bonnet, but found one tiny hail chip where the paint has gone, exposing the metal.

Well there was no storm really to speak of in sunny Lynbrook, but there was a spectacular light show on the horizon. Found out today that my step dads car was written off in the storm in Lillydale. the insurance company won't let him buy it back and that sucks, so anyone got a nice R30 skyline wagon or Pootara (pintara)! for about 3k?

    • Perfect, I'll get to it this winter then at the same time as I weld on my anti squat kit.
    • Alright so my 32 only has one temperature no matter what degree you set it to. I’ve tried disconnecting the servo motor arm and moving it either direction and got no change. I’ve fixed the leak in my AC and re charged it and with it on and clutch engaged it still blows hot even though the low pressure pipe going to the firewall is ice cold. Both heater core hoses are hot while running as well. Diagnostic code showed 24 for intake air temperature sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
    • I said Garrett style. Not Garrett genuine. And something in the G30 550 range is what you want. Not those pokey little old fashioned T28 sized things. The intake ports in the head are small. There is little benefit in fattening up the runners and leaving ths actual ports small. Just run what you've got. And on the subject of Nistune vs Haltech etc..... You know you can control the transmission with decent standalone ECUs these days, right? No need to keep any of that old Nissan bullshit. Don't get me wrong - I use Nistune on my Neo. But it is a DET, so the number of bodges and workarounds I had to do to make it work in a chassis without ABS, TCS, etc, is quite small compared to the herniated arsehole you will have trying to make it work on a motor that doesn't have some of the things that the turbo ECU wants to see. Just easier to bite the bullet and go aftermarket outright.
    • Hmm. Only when the f**king thing is actually working. Still can't find the leak. And that's with dye being put in the last 3 times!
