What guages do you guys find useful?

I currently have a boost gauge and an oil pressure gauge, both of which are obviously also standard on the dash to some degree.

What other type of gauges and what reason do you have them?

In short, none, boost and oil is about all you want, extra tacho's are wank, if you want a shift light, just get a shift light, water temp can sort of come in handy if your keenish to do motorsport, because factory water temp guages don't really show temp varients of a couple of degree's..

other than that, stick with what you have, its all you really need.

I've got a sweet little temp sensor rigged up inside my cai partition. tells me the intake temps on hot days and gives me a rough feel for how the car should be performing etc.

it's connected to a blue EL light thingo which also has a voltmeter on.

loud stereo = need for a voltmeter. I'd like an ammeter too, but the feckin batterys in the boot, innit.

I'be got a hks boost gauge (reads up to 2bar) currently running 1 bar through the turbo and a greddy oil pressure gauge. I've found the gauges move much quicker than the stock ones plus being mounted on my a-pillar they are easier to read than the stock ones without taking my eyes off the road too much.

Me gots one of those units too.... bought it ages ago when I done my CAI.

All up I've got displays for

Rich/Lean bar Graph

Intake Temperature

Volt Meter

Boost

Speed alert

Revs

Digital Tacho

Shift Light

Trip Computer

Airflow

Knocking

Throttle

and more......

....love the blue Screen stuff :)

How much are they and where can I get me one? :)

do you honestly get much info from all those gauges though... i thought it would be easier to drive a car when u knew only select things. So you don't look at your volt meter bouncing while you're stereo's blasting and not concentrating on the road...

Then again those DEFI Link gauges are sweet as.

i only would need decent boost gauge oil pressure oil temp and possibly water temp...that about it the main two i would want is boost and oil temp.

Yepp, same here.

Boost gauge cause the factory one is slow and not in bar or psi :)

Oil pressue cause the factory one is slow and the sender can be dodgy.

Oil temp cause it give's you an indication on how the motor is and also can monitor it when cooling the motor down.

Water temp would also be a go'er if your doing some track work.

    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
