<xxx> Gearset For Getrag 6 Speed

Just want to let people know about major problems I have had with a gearbox assembled by XXX with their gear set. After it being taken out of the car 4 times I have had to get someone else to get it right.

The assembly was a total balls up from the start, if your considering the XXX gear set get some one else to do the installation. This has been going on for 12 months so I have not had a good experience. Hindsight it should have been a Holinger.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with XXX...

Probably not the best place to post this though because SAU doesn't take too kindly to business-bashing. Did they help you out on warranty?

Any defamatory remarks come back to the owner of the medium that is publishing them to the world. His name is Prank. He doesn't like being sued.

But to be honest, this isn't really that bad, and it's probably just a once off. Some more information would be good though, like if they charged you for the work more then once or something...

that's not bashing. It is consumer advice.

Whatever name you want to give it...on a widely viewed forum where the business hasn't had a chance to give their side of the story...it's a bit inappropriate.

As per the notes above - forum rules do not allow you to name a business in a negative light to protect the forum owners.

This thread has been cleanup up, and as long as you don't post the name or obvious details the thread can say. You are welcome to use private messages to share the business name but not posting publically.

I reckon what should be done is like come up with code names right, and then there is some other webpage on the interwebz right, which has a list of these code names and next to these are random words but like coincidentally some sound similar to company names!

Just to clear the air regards the said manufacture who are based in Adelaide and assembled my gear box. Yes the issues are something people need to be aware of, now I have spent a total of $18,000 to get this gearbox right, I am not the only idiot who thought the manufacture of the product knew what they were doing, I have had people from all over the country ringing me to tell me of their problems with the same product.

Warranty.......... Ha Ha.... forget it...

      Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.

      Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old

      Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.

      I _think_ that one has a christmas tree or some other retainer spike into a hole in that panel under it. Come in under it with thin scredrivers and just pry it gently up. If you rip the ears off the retainer pin....so what? Just stick it back down after with a bit of race tape and carry on with life.
