Heya all,

went down and physically inspected this R33 GTR beastie:

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/dealer...id=12544F7AB6BF

looked very clean and original and less than 55K.Kms!

Zero mods that I could tell from a looksee.

Straight body and no rust that I could tell other than from getting it up on a hoist.

Interior was "likebrandnew".

Unfortunately Jap Cars wouldn't let me drive it unless I put down a deposit to buy it (bit sad because if I liked it I would have bought it on the spot)

What do you guys think?

Worth the 25K pricetag?

I looks nice from the photos, but you best go see it in person and bring your mechanic along with you if you don't know what your looking for.

KamikazeNinja34 (Cass) bought her R33 GTR from them and it was in a good condition.

Looks nice in the photos. I don't understand why people don't let you test drive cars unless you put down a deposit. It will definitely put me off from buying the car. It's such a important part of the inspection.

its cause u get time wasters and day dreamers that just want to take ur car for a thrashing 2 tell their mates they drove a skyline.

show some cash like ur genuine and im sure the seller wont deny it

^^ Exactly!

Fcuk the time wasters off!

Or if you don't want to put down a deposit, atleast the best the car dealer can do for you is take you out for a drive but you cannot drive it.

I know it's hard to make a dicision without driving the car, as said above. There are way too many

punks out there who just want to go for a drive. I bought my R32 GTR from Japcar last year and

I gave him $500 deposit and then the car did all the talking.

Clean car there if you like it, give him deposit after test drive if you are not impress then I'm sure that

Dennis will refund you your money back.

By the way when you buy a car from him he will look after you even after the sale unlike others.

Well, because I'm bored..............

Its had the front lip painted white to match the body.

Has aftermarket gearknob.

Is MISSING front GTR strut brace.

And its white :P

Looks the goods other than the missing front gtr strut brace....

It also looks like the rear muffler has been replaced at some point which shouldnt be the case for a standard gtr with 55Klm's on the clock.

Definately drive it before making a decision and dont hand over any money.

jap cars are great to deal with.

dennis (the owner) is a top bloke i bought my 34 from him i didnt have a licence at the time so he took me for a drive in the car and i bought it that day.

That muffler is the original. Had same one on my GTR.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
