this thread/question is asked alot.

simply, rules are there and they are enforced. wait till your off your p's to get a turbo car.

Agreed. Why dont people run the red light even when no one's around? Cause they know it's the wrong thing to do.

nah nah you'll be fine, you can always outrun them anyway

do eeeeeeeeeeeeetttt

Unless you got a Red Devil on your left shoulder like this dude encouraging you... LOL

Avoid Highway patrol. Thats all I can say. RBT"S and regular cops wont notice as they dont know the difference. The rule is not heavily enforced because cops believe no1 has the balls to do it. Meaning they dont look for P platers in turbo cars!!! they look for P platers doing silli shit so if u dont do anything stupid while on ur on ur P's then cops dont have a reason to look at you.

Hence why in Sydney, you do not drive in the western suburbs and cruise around Fri/Sat night in the city. Highway patrol are prominently in western Sydney due to their large roads and long highways. Highway patrol really only venture to the city if its the weekend. Honestly highway patrol dont like coming to the city because of traffic, why would they when they can drive the big open highways catching speeders and legally doing 200km+ to enforce the law. Who wants to sit in the city trying to defect P platers for pods & loud exhausts. But thats not to say you wont find highway patrol in the eastern suburbs and lower north shore. Their are designated highway patrol who just take care of those area's.

So getting back on track. I think if you want to drive a turbo car on your P's it is possible depending on where you live. If you know how to avoid highway patrol you should be sweet. Just drive during certain hours and in certain places.

Why am I not suprised you wrote this.

FFS grow the f**k up and obey the law.

Your "Woah is me attitude" gives 99% of the people on here the shits

P.s I guarentee 90% of the cops out there know the difference between the turbo and non turbo models....a) because all the have to do is run the rego plates and its right there infront of them.

B) they are all trained in vehicle identification so they know what to look for if there has been a robbery/hit and run etc

Calm down Bro :rofl2:,

Fact 1: When a police runs rego it does not say if the car is turbo!!

Fact 2: Yes highway patrol are trained in 'vehicle identification', but not normal/regular cops

Fact3: Andrew, your always wound up tight, are you having your period?? calm down, relaxxx ><

Im personally speaking from experience. I drove a 350gt, not a turbo but still P plate illegal. I was pulled over by RBT's and normal cops for the "random breath test", they never asked for an exemption. But i was driving around Penrith for work and got done by highway patrol. Lost my license and had to sell the car.....

80% of statistics are made up on the spot

lolz

My mate bought an na 300zx and a turbo one, he swapped engines and most internals, hid the turbo's really well and still has not been caught. He spooled next to a cop and they just looked at us and drove off haha

Hid the turbochargers really well? There is a DIY on how to "hide" Z32 turbochargers.

1. Own Z32 with standard turbos

Oh... Engine out!

Must have been taken just before it was pushed into the defect station...

Cop wants to check for turbos? ENGINE OUT!

You know what, P Platers these days don't really need to worry about driving turbo cars and getting caught. What they need to worry about is driving a turbo car and having a tree jump out in front of them!

There has been a few accident lately involving NON TURBO skylines and using too much power... How teh fark do you guys expect to handle a turbo car?

I know a lot of people like this. They don't know how to control a freaking FWD car, how can they expect to drive a RWD in the wet? Or even an AWD.

TBH we need better driver training. And to put people in 300kw cars going sideways down a public road at 110km/h+. That straightened out my driving, I'm much less inclined to do stupid shit after experiencing that.

End of the day, who are people going to listen to? The person carrying on about how much of a f**kwit we're all being or the people saying nice things about what we drive now and are positively assisting us?

Case in point...

Random person I met at paintball: "Mate, you've got a nice 33, why would you want to sell something so clean? Just change the exhaust and suspension and you'll have a perfect ride right there."

Who do you think I'd listen to?

I'm much more inclined to listen to the positively speaking people than the negative ones.

And yes, I'm a p-plater. 18 years old.

Also, kids will be kids. You were all at our point once in your life. Difference is, most of you could drive turbos.

I bought my Silvia when i was 19 (SR20DET) and went and completed an advanced driving course and did a skid pan day inside the first month to give me a much better idea of what it could/would do and how to control it. I'd highly reccomend that to any P plater, regardless of car.

besides, even in your parents clapped out camry/falcodore it's a good day!

Hey im that random person.

and when you (18yo P-platers) try and be sick khunts cause some dude said your car is awesome and you're all yeah check it out it goes pretty good too. and wham hit a tree sideways, cause you were being a dick.

than my point will be valid.

But if you cant simplly listen to common bloody sence than good luck to you.

I don't care what people think of my car...its my car, I bought it for me, not so some random dude can go yeah looks sick mate and then make my head all big n shit.

As for not being able to drive a RWD car in the wet, well if you are at the limit of adhesion driving around the street than you are being a knob and not driving to the conditions. Its that simple, if you lose control of a car whether its a 600hp S13 or a Volvo S40 going down to the shops then you are simple going to fast.

There are plenty of driver training schools around. Go do one and stop asking for Government handouts on this stuff.

You are the driver so you are responsible for controlling the car, thats why they have a steering wheel and pedals.

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
