Easternats Cancelled.............again

Recommended Posts

Faaark Brett, that's nuts. Pretty uncool behaviour shown there.

Not that its going to matter but out of the 2 or so hours i was there it only went real bad for about 15 minutes and the attack on bob jane only lasted 5 mins max before the cops rolled in.

I drove through there about 10.30 and knew this was going to happen as it felt similar to the atmosphere at the noble park riots. I know that there were fights, arrests, people OC sprayed, cars impounded and drink driver's all in the surrounding area after this all in all a terrible day for car enthusiasts.

Pack of dickheads behaving like... a pack of dickheads. Afterall it seems the media is 100% correct about the hoons and so on with them not caring about the public etc etc.

To anyone that was there, even if you were not "doing" anything, you were supporting these spastics and to take video, photo's, standing around... all of it just fuels them.

Good work on bringing the car lovers into further disgrace with this display of utter stupidity.

Protest my ass. Was just an excuse for delinquint children of todays society to behave in the exact manner they claim they are not.

Another sad day for Victoria and Australia overall. Can't organise a protest, and cannot keep it peaceful.

I knew you would show up sooner or later to give your view on a situation that you never saw or were a part of but yet your view suggests you know every thing that happened, would not expect anything less from you.

hoons go beserk on the front of the major newspapers.. really the result they were after? cant blame the government for not wanting to build a track for these rejects of society..

one of those youtube comments is spot on, "the melbourne car scene was hanging by a thread, you just cut that thread"

i stayed home for a reason last night but either way going to cop it big time now..

thanks ya'll :D

I did not go out last night either because u don't want to get f**ked over by cops but there are a few thugs in your post which are stupid. #1. Don't act like you are a saint in he road and don't hoon around. Oubdidnt buy a skyline to drive like a grandma. #2 the reason this happened was because a LEGAL event that was cancelled that caused this. So if legal events don't happen people will take it to the street. Simple.

woah.. pull up man im the last person to claim to be a saint on the road. but i dont go trashing people place of business or blocking highway traffic

i dont think anything in my post outlined anythign to do with me being a saint or the way people drive im purely saying the rioting/fighting, alleged bashing of the age photographer i mean wtf is up with that? yeh im no saint but im no lout either.

i hoon never hid that fact check every other thread where i dont hide the fact..

i am aware that easternats was cancelled and u know what if they had of been racing up and down the highway or having a burn out sesh good on em.. easternats does not involve flares, blocking the highway, and trashing / stealing from someones business

The end of the clip shows them flipping the ute onto its roof.

The owner of the store must be fkn pissed at BJ snr. What a shame really, I couldn't do that to someones business... knowing that I would cost them money and they didn't even do anything.

i was there just out of curiosity. drove past on my way home from work n saw all the people n was like wtf goin on here? found out it was the protest and yeh figured that since the place was half bogans with beers in their hands and muzzas looking for trouble i could tell it was gonna turn into a riot and no one failed to disappoint

Yea I think the people that did that are complete idiots. Don't condone any of it. Fair enough protest. Even be a tool and race but don't be destroying shops and busineses just because thy are in the area. As someone has said on my facebook. Goodbye Melbourne car scene

yep that was pretty much my point... im far from a saint just annoys me because i already have a tough time taking my car out and its guna be even worse now.. those 1 or 2 things they might have let go on a defect not now..

What shits me is that the cops left clearly knowing what was going to happen, they are not stupid. They did the same thing at noble park a few years ago.

Yes these idiots should not have done it, I do not condone it one bit. But again it makes easy pickings of people does it not?

"It was like something from Beirut,'' she said.

Cheryl said the crowds got progressively violent and aggressive.

"They were letting off flares and driving hotted-up cars on the street,'' she said.

"It was absolute mayhem.''

"Within 10 minutes there were hundreds of high-powered cars. It was like an organised protest and we were trapped in it.''

Gotta love the witnesses the media manage to find..

the riots and smashing up a business were just the perfect way to get more public support for off street events and a great advertisement to get people to sponsor events. i know that as a business owner i really want to be associated with these sort of single figure IQ people

<end sarcasm>

in all seriousness, if you are that upset about a car meet being cancelled i think it's time to take your mummy's titty out your mouth and grow the fuck up. out of all the ways to go about expressing dissapointment at the cancellation of an event, this was the worst possible way to go about it. it was never going to remain a peaceful protest as there are too many cavemen in the car scene.

all that will happen now is that any big business and politicians who were previously sympathetic to the cause and willing to help are going to walk away and distance themselves from the car scene, and i wouldn't be suprised to see calls for more venues to be closed down rather than opening new ones.

to the people who turned up to just to see what would happen, while you aren't directly in the wrong, your presence just encouraged more of these idiots to turn up as well as gave them a crowd to try to impress with their stupid antics.

and to the idiots that did actually join in on the stupidity (not directing this at anyone here), well done in adding more fuel to the already well out of control fire. now the general community hates us even more and the politicians will be less willing to provide facilities as the general public won't support it.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
