LOL Simon, that car is fast. Sky is also blue, but I just wanted to say it.

How do you get your freaking helmet to fit? Im only 180cm and a helmet like yours in my S14 does nothing but trade colour schemes with my hood lining.

Is the Bride mounted super low or your shorter than me or what? It shits me to tears, I need to lay my seat back heaps and slide around like a moron at the track lol

haha

Response wise the 6262 really impressed me over the weekend. Did lots of roll ons from 60km/hr (just under 4000rpm in 2nd gear) and every time it was cracking gate almost instantly on 100% throttle application.

Check out this run with an XR6 Turbo that runs a 11.9 at 120mph at the drags. I hit the throttle at the big bollards and it is straight on gate (24psi)

Is it me or are these Precision turbo's very quiet on song? Every video I have seen they are quiet as!

Bulldog run Simon. Congrats :D

The mid frames hardly make any noise, when you're cruising they make a multi-pitched noise though, you can notice it at night.

The larger frames like my 7175 "almost" sounds like a T51R.

What power was the r32 it making in this video?

It was making 600hp on a hub dyno, we tried to tune it on a roller with about 4psi more boost but it just wheelspun at 560rwhp,

Best guess would be 650hp at the wheels

Here's an update for the RB26 VN at the track. Still a bit off its potential on this power (910hp at the wheels on 25 psi), but it's getting there! Weighs 3315lb with driver, has steel, glass and a heavy interior.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the sound.

Would weigh 3314lb after losing that side skirt at the start.

Amazing machine

Here is an insane result for an RB26, I can't get my head around the spool and power this thing has made - a mild built (no porting, not extreme cams) RB26 with nearly 500kw @ hubs/665hp @ hubs with excellent spool on a PT6266 BB:

Raises some eyebrows to say the least.

Things to consider, it's on SAE correction on old software so I would say it's around 600rwhp on a roller (but that's on normal fuel not E85)

You have to wonder how long the ramp rate is, 350hp at 4000rpm is about double what I would be expecting from that turbo

They are certainly capable of pushing beyond their power rating, but I've seen some figures floating around with way too much GST on them.

If they aren't done on an engine dyno or backed up on a track, they are just that...numbers.

No doubt, mine isn't getting pushed at all and it's starting to get right up there power vs power rating wise.

I just find it hard to imagine a larger turbo on basically the same motor set up as mine and Jez's is making almost double the power at 4000rpm and a huge extra wack of hp top end all while using 99 Octane fuel not E85

If I thought that graph was genuine and repeatable I would have already sent an email requesting an invoice for the purchase :)

    • Welcome back mate ,I also joined in the early 2000's , since then I have been in and out a few times depending if I had a skyline in the garage.  I have the another one now , so signed up and back with the SAU team.
    • I used "different strokes for different folks" quite pointedly as honestly, there is no wrong when it comes to choosing what you like.  I always day dreamed about flappy paddles with fast shifts in a sporty RWD Turbo and to me the sound and feel of it cutting through gears in a steady stream is exciting, engaging, and keeps the car better balanced - I *also* like h-patterns, but I find them more engaging and fun in a nice hoonable peaky NA thing.  Type-R Integra/old school NA rotary, things that are raw and need all the rpm where picking the gear and getting it sky high is part of the engagement of the whole thing despite the fact that they probably need closer ratios and faster shifts even more than a 3l turbo thing haha
    • If I wasn't allowed or really had the desire to visit China it would probably fit in my carry on, but I have no desire, Japan would be nice during Cherry Blossom time though I might need to chat to Jackie about that, that should actually be an easy conversation though as she is currently talking about another cruise, cruise ship to Japan, a week in Japan to see the sights, then cruise home I may even be able to find those OEM NC Recaro seats over there that I cannot find here 🤔
    • What do you mean?  In between the two I shared?  They're the same boost   This will be insane.   A mate has a GTSt with a 9:1 RB30/25 with Tomei 256 cams and a Borg S362SX-E that is already a beast from the basement but has a stock 5 speed and will probably get a ZF8 one day.  After the G35 900 RB26 setup I'd be lying if the topic of "Wtf would a divided G35 be like on this thing?" idea hadn't come up - you'd definitely want a wide boost control range setup with it, as even with the less responsive and potent S361 we're having to ramp boost in from very low levels in the early gears.
    • ZF8 is faster, wider ratio spread, better in every way. I do not dispute this. But I have brain damage and I want the feeling of shifting gears. To me the extra work is fun, but I daily an automatic and in the US like 90+% of cars are automatic so a manual transmission is an "exotic" experience. If I want an automatic I've driven an F80 M3 with DCT more than a few times and it's incredibly capable but it's emotionally vacant to me.
