Hey guys,

After 9 months of purchasing my r33 N/A, im still getting around on its stock wheels, and the tyres are starting to go :action-smiley-069:. Im super strapped for cash, as ive just moved, and are constantly getting hit with annoying expanses, so saving money is getting hard. Being N/A, nice looking 4 stud wheels are very hard to come by cheaply(second hand wheels). So heres my question, ive found some nice looking "5" stud wheels with tyres included, im wondering if i could just drill my own holes and patch it up so its nice and solid...is this impossible and a ridiculous idea or can it be done?

to be flat out honest, it's a terrible Idea. I don't mean to be harsh, but if you can't afford the wheels, you most likely can't afford the equipment to redrill a set of wheel properly. also, if I owned a shop, i wouldn't do it for you because of the liability. just get new tires for the stockers and wait it out til you can get what you want. Much EASIER, and much SAFER too

Agreed!!!

There are some things you just don't do yourself, as they put people's life at risk, and this is DEFINITELY one of them!

Have you got a rich uncle who needs his vegie patch weeded or his gutters are full of leaves?

As you come back with your tools, ask him what he thinks of the canvas that's showing up from under the rubber...

:)

i have a set of 18x8 38 off set, Speedy Gun Metal Envy rims i would sell for 700. but not sure if they fit, never tried them. did fit my ford but not sure if the stud is the same. PM me if you would like them.

Cheers

just get some second hand tyres for the short term if ur not rippin skids they will last a while

Agreed - good quality 2nd hand ones and a balance. Or if you have a little bit more dollars buy a brand new set of cheapies

Put them on your stokies and until you save enough $$$

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
