OK so im inches away from buying a silvia....I love it in White and in Red....A bit more in red though but i love Sunroofs! The white one i looked at had a factory sunroof....the red one didnt....i called up 1 place today to see if they could fit a factory sunroof in and they said they couldnt because they didnt have the nessasary rig?

Does anyone know if i buy a factory sunroof are there places that will professionally install it or a cabable of installing it?

Iv already sourced all the nessasary parts for the sunroof for $400.....

Thoughts?

P.S. Oh and do you like silvia's in red or white better!

I think best idea is to wait until you find the one you want in the right colour and features you want such as sunroof etc.

Keep looking, there are plenty of S15's around.

White or Red? Well, it's up to you. Red cars go faster don't they? :)

I'd say cutting into the roof and installing a sunroof would be a costly process.

I'd personally buy the white one and respray it a unique red, rather than install an aftermarket sunroof on the red.

Then again, Nismoman's idea is even better.

Might sound weird but sun-roofs lessen the cars structural rigitity. Thats why Subaru only put them on Impreza WRX models and not Impreza STi :)

Sorry, thought I would share it. I like white Silvias

sorry mate i dont understand, is the sunroof model is the roof height lower? And yes i intend to take it to a track....

Go the white one. With no kit and a nice set of wheels I think they look great. And as above a sunroof will give you less head room and once you put a helmet on you may find it a bit tight for space. It's crazy to cut a hole in a perfectly good roof.

We bought a 180sx with a manual sunroof because that actually provides more headspace as it does not have the motors and what not.

Wait until you find one with everything you want. It's alot easier.

it might only cost $400 to buy all the gear to put a sunroof in a car, but the cost of getting someone to professionally do it will cost much more than that. personally i wouldn't even think of putting a sunroof in a car that didn't already have 1, but then i'm not a big fan of sunnroofs anyway. they are more for the wank factor than anything and as people have said, they reduce headroom, which being tall, i like to have plenty off.

also sunroofs leak. it might not leak now, but eventually ALL sunroofs will leak and then you will get rust in the roof.

definately go white bro f**k red its gay lol

nothing wrong with red as such biggest issue i have with it is if it starts to fade you get yourself a pink car lol.

As has been said wait till you find one with everything you want or go for the one your most happy with otherwise

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
