8k limiter and side step.... what is wheel spin?? ive never heard of it?

Lol. Yes, yes, GTRs are great - we've all heard it before.

Like previously stated I was all for selling the GTT and getting a 34 GTR but they are just so overpriced still at 10 years old. I used to have a 32 Gtst and although a 32 GTR would be fun at $15-20k personally I feel they are just way too old for an every day driver - no offense of course!

This is really a thread about RWD Skylines and what is achievable in 0-100 times, essentially with 'cop friendly' launches, compared to the similar rivals ie WRX, STI, XR6T, SS etc etc

has anyone done back to back runs with 255/17s and 275+/18or19s with around 250+rwkw.. with similar tyres to see if the wider tyre on a bigger rim results in more traction??

I have roughly 440rwhp atm and trying to work out all the things i can do to improve traction and any handling improvements i can make without sacrificing traction... does anyone know if polyurethane bushes would decrease traction?

Cheers

Jarrod

an lsd helps alot!

depending on the condition of your stock lsd.

i had no traction 1st to 3rd (251rwkw) with stock lsd, put a nismo 2way and although i do still get some wheel spin, its nothing compare to before and the car is alot quicker...

one thing people have overlooked in this thread.

Suspension setup.

Stock suspension with pineapples pointing the pinion angle in the correct position will get you soo much more traction then a set of coil overs.

The difference is amazing.

On this topic of pineapples, can anyone share with us the best way to get the pineapples setup correctly for maximum traction? there are 3 ways you can setup the pineapples but which one is the best for drag traction? I am sure there is a thread on here about it from back around 2003 2004 when i got my pineapples but I cannot be farked searching for it at the moment. Maybe someone can find it and test it and post up their results for everyone to see?

Who is going to try it out?

Okay I decided to not be so lazy and found this.

My pineapples are currently setup for "all round performance"

http://www.whiteline.com.au/instruction/203a_KCA349.pdf

there you go  - also SHIM YOUR DIFF!

hi guilt toy

i dont know the best setup, but i had centreline setup the pineapple diff cradle package on my car and from memory its on drag launch setup and its never been changed from that. from their documentation drag launch is really maximum traction, from memory mine is on that. i have std shocks still

How much do these pineapples cost and where can i get them from? Will any suspension place know what I'm talking about if i go in? I still have standard shocks but slightly lower king springs - sounds like the pineapples might help me out a bit?

qwilkinson34, look at the link posted by Guilt-Toy in post #46. It specifies whiteline part number and explains them. Roughly $110.

I am getting some pineapples fitted today by Centreline suspension. I am getting quite a bit of axle tramp, Chris wants to fit them at all round performance. What do you guys think?

Has anyone tried them at both all round performance and maximum traction to give a comparison?

my car is setup by centreline with the pineapples for "all round"

greddy 6/8 coilovers, pineapples, superpro castor and camber bushes, selbys non adjustable swaybars, strutbraces and a mechanical 1.5 way diff.

i get zero tramp and very good traction.

i run the car @ 320mm centre to guard (low as) and with 245/40/18 nitto NT05's i get traction through all gears in the dry with 285rwkw

on e85 i am pushing 325rwkw and only just lose 1st but have all of 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th

What sort of 0-100 time do you think you can manage with that setup?

Are there any drawbacks to having these things installed on a daily driver...?

nope... have had mine in for over 2 years now

i have no idea actually.... would have to be pretty good tho (driver dependant)

Thanks mate! All round it is

I cant believe you can get traction in 1st gear with 285rwkw! Your car must be setup very well.

Hey mate, how do you find the nittos for street use ?

no worries ;)

Yeah Hamish, how the hell do you get traction in second, let alone first :)

My setup is similar to yours other than the 1.5 way.

nitto's man.... with the federals it was very very different

Hey mate, how do you find the nittos for street use ?

brilliant.... but expensive

have done 5000k's so far including 1 DECA and will definately see 10,000 above that it will depend on how many trackdays i get in :D

in the rain they are shit like all tyres, but not dangerous at all.... they still give much more traction than most :D

"RRP" is 480 in a 245/40/18

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
