Hi Everyone,

Just a quick message to let you all know that I am buying a Honda Civic.

I wrote off my car last night and it made me realise there is just too much power in that car for me. So no more Skyline.

Just like to thank those of you who helped me out with my last accident. I have received nothing but support from everyone here at the forum.

I still think that Skylines rock. Everybody please stay safe.

thats sad to hear... but go the Civic... !!!

(i used to want one before i decided to get a skyline, i only changed my mind because i figured i might aswell get a more powerful car for the same price range and plus civic is FF  )

hope your alright after your accident. mind sayin how it happened?

(P.S. why dont you just get a Naturally Aspirated skyrine... like mwa!... tis about 100kw less power than a turbo, still puts out a bit of a punch i think, can still beat S@$tbox VL's etc  ahaha)

I have promised my parents I'd get a "normal car" this time and the Civic is a great little car for the price.

As for how it happened... I was learning how to drive my car safely on the way home last night. I was learning how to take corners without losing it. My boyfreind kept telling me to take each corner really slowly to just learn the correct lines to take etc. But I got a little carried away. At that point a Commodore came around the corner the other way taking it wide. My boyfriend kept telling me to brake and slow down but at that point I'd lost it. Over counter steered.

Could have been a lot worse. Smashed into a wire fence and a shipping container. There were poles everywhere. Could have been killed. Can't move my neck - whip lash. The Commodore was gone by the time I'd even started to lose it so luckily they weren't hurt and I didn't hit them.

Thats why I'm getting a Civic.

What HP was that thing making then?? cos i find the Skyline a lot more stable around the corners than my first car my ZX was .... had a couple of close calls in that .... threatened to trade it for a Suburu Liberty more because of servicing costs than power but decided i would be bored with it.

Anyway sad to hear about your car ..... if your more ocmfortable with a Honda Civic then thats probably best  Good luck.

just cus mine is a non turbo doest mean its not powerful... well sorta does but its still very nice. And i actually feel very safe and comfortable driving my car. I feel i can control it fairly well (better than my last 2 cars.... although i dont do stupid things in this car like i did the others  .. like doin a snakey in the wet etc etc... )

Haha thanks for tha support guys. Is a shame and hopefully insurance will cover.

The reason I'm going a Civic is because I don't want another car that I can kill myself in, but I like to feel a bit of power underfoot. I can make it look nice but keep hte engine stock. No rice thank you very much (I'd just finished getting all the rice OFF my car) but some dark tint and nice rims would be nice. Anyone hear of a good Civic for sale please let me know.

PS Guess I'd better change my user name. I'm not using the LOVE2XLR8 plates anymore!!

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
