ive been looking at exedy website and they got under sports tuff section 5 puk button or heavy duty kit..

then its next stage racing clutch sports ceramic and sports organic?

which one u talkin about mate?

Where abouts in Qld are you? I get mine done in sydney through my mechanic (the guy doesn't sell to public), have a single organic, 540hp atw and NO slip. Includes dumping the clutch at 7000rpm doing 60 in 2nd and the it all hooks up and sends the rear sideways. Very driveable, i even have the vac assist off the clutch master cylinder. My mech is happy to supply one for you through his account (he's quite a nice guy....) Last I checked pull was about 1350 and push was about 1250. Let me know if your keen.

I have had limited exposure to the extreme range tho, I have installed an extreme drift clutch into an S14... It turned out VERY well, 1300kg and very very easy to use. It was surprising. As I only installed it literally weeks ago, I cant honestly report on its durability BUT It was a 2nd hand kit I installed, tho I did know the car it came from fairly well.

After some impartial discussion with jim berry Im actually leaning toward the extreme drift clutch for my RB. Its a combination of pressure plate and diaphram that do it, but its a bigger outlay. For the price, really cant fault the exedy mate. The sport tuff ones are a different range though, meant to be better but mixed results from me.

Also, the said S13 in my previous post had a HHHDB kit, which is this kit on ebay:

Alot heavier and harder to use but will hold more power. I would contact the seller to confirm it is a HHHDB kit and not just a HDB before purchasing tho.

thats the one i was looking at scott, i even pm'd him the other day and he rkns he rates it to only 340rwhp that exact model/kit... but then said he add in something extra to rate it to 400rwhp for $640 .. not sure what he does... hrmmm.. those xtreme clutchs arent cheap.. $1200-1500 ish... ppl i only wanna spend like $500-700 max lol im a tight ass hahaha

yeah man whats the go HHHDB kit? whats that mean.. so its still 5puk button.. but stronger? looks the goods for 600ish

The HHHDB is the same thing as the other 5 puk button but they use thicker straps. The straps are the springs that make it clamp shut.

On my mates S13 it was a 1200kg clamp load, as apposed to an 800 or something that the HDB is.

H stands for Heavy, D is Duty, B is button. Obviously HHH is tripple heavy duty, its one of the upgrades exedy offers. As stated, it was a good kit and has been running for 5 years in my mates S13, but its not exactly something you just drive around carelessly... It takes effort to drive.

I agree with the above. I'm running close to 400hp and am using the exedy sports organic. It is one step up from the HD button. Has a higher clamp load and has a very light feel unlike the break your foot button clutches. It's about $100 more for the comfort

we are talking rwhp yes? cause if not, then the stock HDB will be well enough,

if 400rwhp go an HHDB or HHHDB

i dont mind something a bit heavier harder 2 drive. i like that feeling

it's a fairly bitey clutch for a daily, but given that i daily mine with no problems... (they do drive some people nutz tho)

Jim rebuilt my Nismo copper max single plate. converted it to a organic with 3400 clamping pressure. it feels no heavier then original and its great to drive. thats with a RB30 making 500Nm of torque worth every cent of the 900 odd it cost me.

if you have time on your side, you can buy a nismo coppermix that has been killed for cheap and have jim rebuild it

krzysiu's clutch has a nice light pedal feel and will hold 400hp without a worry

an HHHDB will be a tougher clutch, but also tougher to drive... i think if i drove kris's car now id probably kick a hole in the firewall :bunny:

I fitted a 5 puk excedy to a mates modified s15. Was supposedly rated to the power, was fine for the first 3 weeks then started slipping under boost.

Chucked his old single plate copper mix back in, and it was all good.

Can't say I was impressed with my first excedy clutch.

Personally I run a older ORC twin plate in my 26/30 with the larger plates. If you don't mind a bit of rattle with the clutch in then it's all good. I don't know what your mates doing with his twin plate but there is nothing wrong with them, I would go twin every time on a high torque output vehicle.

Otherwise if I had to go single it would be a JB clutch, and yes the man can talk underwater.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year. 
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
