There's a Lambo entered? o.O damn.. wish my car was ready lol

That's MPC's new Lambo that they will be testing for the GT series.

Sunday is going to cold and wet, there are a fair few entrants. Hopefully the track isn't crowded and hopefully there are no major incidents that delays everything

Forget the delays, I dont mind delays from accos as some other poor bastard is struggling more then me. Oil and breakages are frustrating though....just hope ppl dont bend them as they have a habit of costing the earth to fix

Shame to read you are expecting crappy weather, was hoping that the GTSt guys would get into the 21-22s

Ahhh, hope it doesn't rain! Not looking too good though.... should of kept my Continentals! Kumho KU36s now, hope they are good in the wet.

If it's really wet I'll be chucking on my KU36's as well.

Sorry to see that you aren't goint to make it Chris but I think there is another Sandown day later in the year.

As for the weather last I heard it was scattered morning showers then fine in the arvo. Personally I'm keeping my fingers crossed as my 55's are well worn and we know what happened the last time that happened :)

im in. its been too long without hitting the track plus i have a ton of terrible lifeless and treadless 55's to get rid of. where else would you do it but Sandown in the wet!?

LOL considering the proximity of walls at Sandown my choice would be PI or Winton for a bit of fun in the wet :verymad:

yes coming along to laugh at the rest of us is encouraged.

just turn up to sandown through the dandy rd entrance. security on gate will ask you who

is running the day, maybe.

park out the back of the pits, with all the other cars.

you can stand up the top of the pits or wonder through.

sweet, gonna come down for a watch tomorrow!

Anyone know the times cars will be running? Also, whats the official name of the event if security gets nosey?

Cheers

Brilliant day guys! Was my first time out with you all and had an absolute blast! Car went well, had the expected level of brake fade and new my clutch pressure plate was dying so when she started going it wasn't a total surprise but managed to run a 1:37.3 in a totally stock r32 gtst, very happy!

Sorry I didn't get to meet more of you I couldn't work out who was who.

Question, I don't remember filling in my sau comp category anywhere? How does that whole comp points thing work?

Cheers!

sorry i could make it out there today. sounds like you all had a good day.

did anyone have any dramas?

heres the timing for those interested :blush:http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?27/06/2010.SAN

*edit* just noticed there was a lambo gallardo on the list pushing some pretty quick times. was it race spec or something?

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
