Is it common practise to put different fitment wheels on 34 GTR's?

I have 9" all round but am considering new wheels.

Some I have seen are 8.5 front and 9.5 rear.

What is preferred and what offset.

18 x what is best fit and what offset ....front and rear

19 x what is best fit and what offset ...front and rear

No! Same rolling diameter will be ok with the 4wd, but i think you will find some pretty heated discussions in here about retaining the same width for all wheels.

The jist of it is, none of the top gtr garages ever use staggered wheel sizes, diameter or width.

going different widths and then compensating with typre profile to try and get the same rolling diameter will probably still result in a slight difference in rolling diameter and probably isn't the best for the atessa system.

if i had an r34 gtr vs2 and money which u clearly have both of i would get 19x10.5 +12 or +15

i believe my man eugen will be able to help u out in this

I stupidly tried this on a gtr once and the atessa system went nuts. Even when you are cruising along slowly, the torque would suddenly be ramped up to the front wheels, and you could see it on the mfd. It felt like the car was tramlining and you'd be fighting the steering on a perfectly straight road.

So been there, done that and never again.

And 10.5" wide +12 to +15 offset sits ideally on an r34 GT-R with about -0.5 deg camber all round. I've pulled to -3.5 degrees on the front and the rims look really sunken in. But with very minimal camber, there's no need to roll the guards and it wont stick out like dogs balls.

Yeah I have 19x10.5 +15 on mine and really need to reduce the camber to make them just "right".

I have about 3 degrees rear and they look a little sunken.

The 34 GTR has a wider track in the rear from factory, which is contrary to most other cars, incl 32/33 GTRs, and I personally wouldn't want to make the rear track any wider than it is in relation to the front, to do so could end up with quite an evil handler that would be fairly willing to swap ends once sideways.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
