ohh all available from the yahoo auctions in japan, just used Import Monster.

i still need a front strut brace to finish it off.

and i think ill go nolathane bushing everywhere

You may want to look at a V35 one then as the M35 strut brace will not fit with the 19mm runner spacer in there mate.

I dunno if the V35 braces will actually fit, but I suppose you have more chance as the top of the engine sits higher in a V than ours do.

problem is is that even if you have a strutt brace to fit above the plenum with the runner space how do you get it to fit between the bonnet and the plenum!

Oh that's right....you need another type of bonnetninja.gif

lol... subtle like a jackhammer as always mate.

or get a PM35 bonnet modified (it has at least another 20mm clearance over the NM35 bonnet)

is there a way of customer fabricating one? ie Whiteline??

I spoke to Whiteline about this, and Wayne basically said because it's a labour intensive component to produce, it would need to sell in fairly large numbers to be worthwhile. So, at this stage, most likely not.

I want to find out whether they do one for the 350z, if they do I want to source the strut tower mounts and do some clearance testing to see if we can manufacture a bar to fit our bay, using their mounts.

Might save some time, and they might be interested.

hey daleo did u but the bcs with the off the shelf spring rate as i was thinking you can ask suppliers to give you diiferent spring rates.

So if i have the cash i would buy tein super flex wagon but ask them for a different spring rate to soften them up , but if the bc were off the shelf standard spring rate ill just go for those and use the rest of the money for

my sway bars , links , mount brackets

Yeah sorry, as Iain said I'm running with the damping 3 clicks in from full soft, there's 30 clicks of adjustment and you can feel a difference with just one click.

I reckon the rates are spot on for a regularly driven car, your roads are much the same as ours anyway, and if you need a bit more, you can always wind in a bit more damping.

The swaybars & links just make a nice package even sweeter.

Bonnets differ ?????

yes....they are different in a couple of different way's.

But in a dark alley near one of the corner's of middle earth and bellow the surface the is a man of which only two people have ever seen.....this man holds the secret to cooler under bonnet temp's and room for a strutt brace with a plenum spacer!blush.gif

onto other new's....Dale is Whiteline interested in doing springs? I have some special ones on there way!

OX Motor sports have strut/tower bar for a VQ25DET but it appears you need to move some items by the looks of the pics

Bonnets differ ?????

Considerably.

The Series 2 M35's (PM35/PNM35) need a bonnet with more clearance because of the VQ35de they use whereas the VQ25/VQ30 used in the series 1 M35's (M35/NM35) sit a lot lower.

Also, the PM35 grill is narrower and the headlights larger so the "tabs" on the front of the bonnet are in a different spot (I found this out the hard way)

Has he created a mould yet? Started testing?

OX strut brace won't fit if you have a runner spacer... nor will any of the other VQ25det designed strut braces for that matter

I'll be talking to Wayne later this week, and I'm going to hit him up about springs, etc. So I'll let you know. What's so special about your springs, eh?

I spotted some Dolphin springs on YAJ at one point, perhaps he snagged them; dunno if they're specifically 'special' mind you :)

so do the PM35 bonnets have a more aggresive higher look to them

are they not able to sit onto the NM35 as the MN35 is the only turbo late model stag

and whats this is someone making some aftermarket bonnets ??

if so very keen

PM35 will bolt straight onto an NM35 (I have done it), but you will either need to cut and re-weld the abs at the front as they are closer together than the NM35 ones, or buy PM35 headlights, grill and front bar (as I did).

Yes, the PM35 bonnet is higher in between the creases. I think it looks much better from the driver seat (find myself looking at the "step" on the crease quite often for some reason).

    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
