I am spastic and couldnt find a date, you talking this wed 25th at WSID? I could be keen...

yup, that is the one.

Thanks for the offer Dale. Just bought one as I needed L anyway.

See you tomorrow.

Andy

damn too good to be true then..

so scott what mods ? lol

From a Dyno thread

I finally got around to putting my results up...

Intake mods: Custom powerduct, K+N filter, 80mm intake, stage 1 Sierra highflow bushed turbo, cut down Greddy intercooler, 600 x 220 x 76, with custom piping.

Cam's denso plugs, still not breaking down at 1.1mm.

Custom 3.5 inch dump into highflow cat then 3 inch to quiet legalis system.

Blitz SBC type r boost controller.

Oil cooler, trans cooler.

E85 in the tank, most noticeable change yet.

R33 gtr Tomei fuel pump with ryco filter inline.

Deka 610cc injectors.

Emanage ultimate with map sensor.

Built re5 box with valve body, extra clutches and the converter unlocked with a switch.

17" Ku36 semi's on drifteks.

BC coilovers.

Plenty more, not performance based, the list would go on forever. ;)

yeah thats pretty keen.

Im suprised the loss from fly to wheel on the standard setup!

looks like quite a modded m35 - nice ride scott!

looks like there will be lots to be done to mine to even get it close to that level.

Switch for the stall clutch because it was trying to lock up with 250kw running through it, cooking the fluid in the process.

Be aware that in manual mode the trans cooler doesn't operate.

lol harsh.

will be in if we do it in a week or 3, will be interesting to see what china turb0 and rb30 can do

Sorry mate couldn't help myself. :)

You have a similar power output don't you Duncan? It will be interesting to see what time you can get out of the VL tractor engine...

thats hecko's with the overheating.

good to know but - thanks for the tip regarding manual mode!

In my old torana it had a stage 3 semi auto with the 2500rpm stally and b&m shifter (old banjo 6cyl lsd)...but no auto clutching.. just slammed gears with compression lock ups rolling up to the lights...chewed way to much of the power though..halved the 300hp xu1 motor..but still bloody dangerous

Hope everyone went well tonight. Was thinking bout tagging along, but he with the most Letters is the slowest!

Please tell me someone videoed it? post to Youtube please.

I'll get her out there next trip!

We had 3 M35 stagea's out on the strip tonight.

Unfortunately it was really busy as last week was rained out and lots came along this week limiting us to 2 runs each.

But down to the times.. I will let the other guys post their times.

My times were good but I was hoping for a smidgen better.

1st Run: 14.625 speed 155.1kmh (left in auto) 96.38mph

2nd RunL 14.659 speed 158.30kmh (in manual mode) 98.36mph

Not a bad result but was hoping to hit 14.3...

Bazillions of cars out at Eastern Creek tonight, only got two runs in sadly.

Wanted to get into the 14s; result!

First was 14.91 @ 93.66 mph (150.73 km/h)

Second 15.16 @ 93.35 mph (150.23 km/h)

Happy with the first, stalled up well, felt like it got off the line nicely, second was against a Pro tree, and I didn't get it stalled up properly, and it left the line like a stately English Manor...

The 14.91 I feel is pretty indicative of a basically stock car, I only have a K&N filter and the Group buy dump. That's it

Well done Andy & Rudi, great times guys, won't spoil it for you.

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
