just wondering, what did you have installed which alloud your R34 to like positive boost.. my car stalls when i hit more than 0.00

thinking its the ecu, just wondering what i need to 'fix' this issue

Yeah you need to have some sort of ECU change most aftermarket ones will do, the e-manage ultimate is more than capable of sorting your issues, you can even buy an optional harness that allows you to retune the car for exact turbo pressures.

Man, This thread was heapz good....

all waiting for dyno results then car goes missing...

All i can say is POOH JABBA!

Tell me about it....it's like an unfullfilled dream, I'll never know what it was pushing

i had problems when tuning my greddy emanage.. could you sent me your emanage settings? just for my reference.. i had install the pressure sensor and it didn't show up... and keep on blinking when not connected to pc. and stalls whenever i release the throttle when slowing down..

I'll have to look around for my e-manage files, after the car was stolen I didn't see the need to keep them.

When you install the pressure sensor you have to create a new map file, with the provision to record map pressure (in the setup menu) otherwise it won't recognize it.

Hey, you stated that the conversion may cost around $3000.

In my case, ( I own a R33 gts ) would it be simpler to just get an engine swap or front cut? What would be left for me to change besides the ecu? If i opted for one of the two?

Okay, mid last year i did completed my NA to turbo conversion.

cost me over 6g in total to do it..

here are the dyno sheets.

this is from when she was N/A, and only had cat back exhaust on it.

this is when all work was complete, running high compression still but with turbo.

in the 2nd graph it shows black lines an a blue one, the black was a previous dyno that was done that got 273 at the rears but had a dodgy coil pack, The blue is after the coil was replaced.

If you look on the dyno it shows he running 9psi. I've almost done mine got all the parts just looking for a tuner in W.A gonna ring around tomorrow

excuse my ignorance where exactly do you look on the dyno reading for the psi amount being run?

it would sound similar, but slightly different due to compression.

every car sounds slightly different with just the minor mods..

6g would be for half cut + putting engine in.

3g would be ecu + 2nd hand parts to turbo it. (plus tuning of course)

Is the head on the rb20de the same as the rb20det,I have to do the turbo conversion on my car to get it complied & I can get the head & turbo etc for nothing,I had heard that the difference in compression was in combustion chamber is this right or not.

Does any one know if the ecu wiring plugs for a N/A skyline and a turbo skyline are the same, im just helping out a mate with a N/a skyline with all standard turbo bits (fuel pump, injectors etc) as i have a standard ecu for a r33 gtst s1.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
