hi guys

i got my te37's last week and they were bronze color which didnt really suit what i wanted for my car so i got them resprayed professionally by a friend of mine at neway

they were first painted matt black but we werent happy with the finish/end product so we went with a satin black that looks f**king amazing imo

what do u guys reckon??

heres before and after and i have new rays stickers at home to go on them as well.

they look fantastic i wouldn't have thought any sort of shine would work well but they turned out great. Is there any reason why you went paint instead of powder coat? I get a lot of mixed reports from different people but i have been told paint is better because it will only scratch as oppose to powder coat which will flake.

the photo is not hi quality sorry it was taken on an iphone then sent to me and then i posted it from my mobile.

they r not shadow chrome like the photo looks, they r actually satin black, they just got delivered to my house now and they look f**king crazy, there sort of matt but they have a shine to them still, but ill get photos up when my sis gets home and ill tax her camera.

i painted them instead of powder coating because i think paint gives a better finish when ur doing no gloss

thank u all for the kind words though

by far the nicest set of te37's out  what colour is the car they're going on?

my car is pearl white with triple glitter and gold pearl thru it, + carbon bonnet, boot, side skirts, carbon ganadors and the lip of my front bar is painted gloss black.

ive got heaps of other carbon parts to go on it but havnt fitted heaps of stuff yet.

they will be going over K-Sport 8 piston front brakes which r an anodised orange so should look tuff as lol

Out of interest... Where did you get the Rays Stickers from?

i got them from project mu. the dudes name is andrew, good luck finding them they have been discontinued for over a year and he kind of just randomly found these ones in his store room. paid the premium price for them also $80.

i dont think im actually gonna use them though haha

Ohh nice you went the K-Sports did you, post pics!

yeah mate i wanna try them they seem to be a good quality piece of equipment so i think they will be fine.

ill get pics when they arriva and have them installed, around a couple of weeks

That looks insane! Definitely unique, Giving me some ideas too :)

Is painting roughly the same price as getting it powder coated?

+1 with the pics of the wheels on the car!

i dont know how much powder coating costs, this cost me 800, they were prepped completely in and out and painted twice before i decided on the satin black. if u have ever seen te37's the finish on them is extremely rough, these r now perfect and there painted in and out

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
