Just one more little gripe I have about the first film.

I also found it peculiar that the director thinks that the underside of a Mitsubishi Eclipse features a 1' x 1' square of diamond-plate steel.

That conveniently sheared off all its bolts when the MANIFOLD started to overheat.

So the heat from an overly-stressed manifold, as indicated by the Atari-style graphics on the laptop shouting "WARNING! DANGER TO MANIFOLD!", is enough to melt the dozen-or-so bolts holding a diamond-plate panel onto the bottom of a car, which is almost in the middle of the underbody.

Cheers Hollywood, your sense of logic is charming but... bleh.

Editors Cut!!!

The cars of the 5th Fast and the Furious should have:

amuse_370z_vestito_3.jpg

Yanks love their Zeds, so probably put a in 370Z (Powerhouse Amuse) it actually looks wicked...

well the eclipse is fwd, so maybe all that torque pulling on the engine mounts was enough to pop the rivets holding it in, lol.

as for the EMP killing the ecu from the door, i'd believe it. doesn't have to kill the ecu itself, only has to kill the battery and coils, or even just a heap of relays, and since the engine and the battery are earthed to the body, hitting any metal panel will do really.

lol apparently the 34gtr in the last movie was just a 34gtt with a full gtr kit on it...

there was s tory about the theives who broke in to steal it -

They usualy have 3 or 4 stunt cars with one hero car. But there was a shot in the movie of a close up of the dash and it was a gt dash that only went up to '180' *i think*. dont the gtr dashes go up to 300 or is that the nismo dash.

That would be the Nismo dash or The V-Spec II N1 (I think) / V-Spec II Nur / M-Spec Nur dash (definitely 300 Km/h)

2F2f would have just used a stock base model / V-Spec / V-Spec II with the 180 Km/h dash.

Continuing on from my original India F&F 5 idea, I expand on:

The movie needs to feature some of these MAD things.

0 - 100 takes 20 seconds... MAD! :P

Then Vin Diesel can say "I live my life 1/4 mile at a time, in those 120 seconds, I'm free."

Stick with the 1st donkey drag races, then tatas, then Paul Walker & Vin Diesel will go their separate ways in choosing & modding their cars:

Paul Walker will stick to his usual turbo route & end up buying a white 2002 model Toyota Camry from a local tax accountant & then chuck a T51R turbo on it, while Vin diesel will go with his usual muscle V8 route & get one of these bad boys: Resized%20DSCK0970.jpg and drop a LS7 in it.

sure it wasnt in MPH, it is america remember...

yar it was in KPH, i R34's in 2f2f and the 5th fast and furious were right hand drive anyway. and in the 5th one i dont see why theyd rip out the mfd (if it was a gtr) in order to put a fancy screen the size of my computer monitor.

It would have been a JDM Import and I do remember the speedo in Km/h.

LOL!

That fancy screen was rubbish, stock GTR MFD is good as it is.

your taking it wayyyyyyyyyy to seriously man

what really counts is for that 10seconds or less .... your free :P

i guess someone owes them a 10 second car.

Back to the thread they need an r35. (Speaking of which didnt paul walker pretty much choose one in the 5th when he was picking his car , he picks a white r34 a red 35 and the blue34 and says "i want em all" and then doesn't use the r35.) something well known like mines or zele. wasnt their a japanese movie with the top secret gtr in it?

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
