yeah, I was spewing at first (like almost a breakdown, lol) but once I got used to the idea i realised it was in the best interests of the family and thats more important than my personl desires.

and nah, no more drift for me. im not even going to try using the p&s for drift as i know it will be unsatisfying. theres plenty of others out there doing it, just wish they would actually get stuff published to justify the 'media' they all use in their names.

and cheers man, its actually really cool to finally be able to mix my love of graff with my love of photography in a creative way, as opposed to just taking pics of graff (although i still love that, the feeling you get when you see a new burner is hard to describe, lol)

You has a family?!?! I thought you were another young gun a.k.a. 19years/20 years old hahaha. Guess i was wrong.

If i sold all my stuff at least i would have a lot of cash about but i think i'd cry myself to sleep for a week at least haha.

Well the media vests are understandable as long as they take good pics etc... but the guys out there with rubbo gear that just got there because of there mates help, i can't justify it... A good example of this was Superlap this year, but meh, what can you do?

Keep posting up your pics, even if they are with a P&S!

yeah man, im an old man  34 with 2 kids (4yo boy and 3yo girl) so yeah, they come first.

will keep posting pics up, gotta so many ideas i want to try and having a visual record of my progression would be nice.

Those light painting graffiti shots are awesome!! Fantastic work, Jay. Shame about selling the camera, I'd be devastated ;) I've spent more on my camera than I have on my car! Excluding purchasing the car, obviously.

Group buy on media vests, perhaps?

thanks for the feedback guys :)

yeah selling the camera did suck a bit, but knowing you made the responsible choice for your family makes up for it.

and i know this wasnt taken in october, (sorry its only a few days off ;)) but heres a photo of my R31 taken with the Lumix. pretty decent for a p&s, just wish i could chuck a CPL on it to reduce reflections

Viva la dirty one!!!!! I have a massive soft spot for 31s. My first line wad a beige and brown 31 I called the Tim tam til I smashed it and reincarnated her ad the red devil.

Owen the wiring is right. The leds - go back to the inverter. It's a separate circuit to the input voltage.

Maybe its best to just get a kit from jaycar or find a simpler plan.

I took this afternoon just around the corner from where the house is getting built. the Sun and Clouds were battling it out with full fury. Glad I stopped to grabbed this.

Dude, you should DEFINITELY print that!

Should totes print that shot. Best landscape work you've ever done, keep it up!

Well, i tried out some light painting last night. Ghetto ties to hold my light inside my 47" Octabox, damn the octa makes the light so soft and buttery.

I went way overboard editing this but the point of it was to just bump the contrast and see how the light was hitting my car.

Location was where i park it at home and it was 1230am so i didn't go anywhere.

I'm pretty happy with a 10minute effort! Would like to go to a proper location when i get time and not have to edit the cr@p out of it to get rid of the colour cast from lamps and sh!tty background.

Anyway, let me know what you think (BTW - On my calibrated monitors i can see all the fine details perfectly, but looking at it on my work monitor i can barely see my wheels....).

Thats awesome man, very soft indeed! Awesome potential with that set up.

The only real hot spot is across the rear guard to rear door, try to keep the same distance from the car, and dont look at how you see the light, but imagine how the light would look from your lens (If that makes sense)

Yeah, I'll print it out and have a look at it on paper, i like it, I think i like it more cos it shows how nice it is where i'll be living soon ;0

Nick, I looked on my home pc and i can only find 4. I'll be getting 5 today though, so you should be able to stop in at work and get it tomorrow if you're not to busy

Yeah super soft light! In regards to that hotspot, i could of burned it down a bit, but decided i would try and get a highlight kind of in there. Although there is nothing to highlight on my car :(

I'm pretty sure in regards to that part, there was a bigass tree there and i had to reduce my distance about 1metre and stand there for about 5secs trying to navigate around the camera and not go into the tree, but keen to see what happens on a proper location with room.

Dooooooo it.

If you need CS5 for MAC or windows, let me know if your still struggling to get a copy.

w00t! Looks nice Owen. Now i see why the 580EXII is so exxy to buy. Comes with metal hotshoe and weathersealed also.

For as cheap as this flash was i might pick one up. Although if it's better than my 580, i'll dis-own Canon :(

Take some snaps, you should buy a wireless trigger kit, so you can shoot with the flash off camera. lots of fun!

Thinking about it :) Gotta let my bank account recover from this month first (oops). The manual is in Japanese (I think) so I'm having a fun time working out what the hell I'm meant to do with it :)

    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
