I have and I did.

I bought 2x 225/40R18 and 2x 255/35R18 Toyo Proxes R1Rs through PriceUSA. Not only do Toyo not bring in the 255/35R18 size into Australia the costs were very reasonable.

hey hank, what was the total cost for shipping and priceUSA fees if you dont mind me asking?

cheers

PM me your email and I will forward you my last email from them with all the details if you like

Sweet ahead with my order I go!

Hows longs shipping been taking for u guys?

1-2 weeks from date of order.

Once Fed-Ex has the tyres they are generally here within the week.

Be sure to log into the shipping website and follow your shipment, when my second set of tyres left the warehouse I posted a letter to a mate in Brisbane, my tyres got to me before his letter arrived.

Hey guys I'm about to transfer cash for a set of dunlop star specs I assume they don't include the cost of freight in keeping it under 1k?

All up its costing $1050USD, $388 for shipping. I should be allright in avoiding the GST, etc, right?

Disagree. Nismoid is wrong.

Acs does not take into account the cost of shipping internationally in the initial assessment. You will be fine. Have an itemised invoice, which tirerack do.

Once the value of the actual goods go over 1000, then acs use the total amount including shipping and other costs involved to calculate the duty and any other charges.

Make sense? All the details are on their website.

I have imported in your circumstance, was not charged duty. I also am employed in the industry.

Nismoid was probably mistaken. So you said total cost is $1050 consisting of 662 for goods and 388 for shipping right?

In which case you'll be fine.

If you meant 1050 was for the tyres, and + 388 shipping on top - expect duty + aqis charges.

Exactly, $662 tyres and $388 shipping, I wasn't very clear in my original post sorry.

Sweet so no duty + aqis charges, thanks fellas

Awesome service and about 1/2 the price of most tires here. But they can't ship Yokohama to Australia anymore. Looks like the local Yoko guys kicked up a stink but there are freight forwarding companies in the US that will receive them then post them on to you here ;) Got to love free markets

just a question to anyone who has bought form tire rack.

Did you require tire racks' address to complete the transfer?

My bank asked for one and i did not have it. They ended up putting in Indiana.

Guess ill have to wait and see what happens.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
