Now you know why I don't trust people to work on my cars anymore!!!!

you might want to mention to the dealer what you found!

Yeah rang him as soon as I saw it, and sent photos. If I cant get a nut for it tonight I'll be ringing again and having a few very stern words

It was the demo car at musle car and I had to get it back to Nissan.....had ne etag so I took the long route.

Nearly went past isms house but I was a little tired after having a late night on sat after dad hit a wall in the r32. :(

confused.gif Sorry to hear that mate. Is he OK? Hope the cars OK too.

I got some Bog filler round here somewhere...wub.gif

well i finally commited to the swap yesterday!

to be honest, a few tears came down! and I already miss the stagea!(even if I did think it was a POS)

drove home in the s14 and its fkn amazing. the change from a wagon to a sports car is unbeleivably different.

Hopefully I'll get back into an M35 one day.

BTW, the new owner has already found the 3.8 stroker, and is planning on doing it. i just said good luck lol

hmm time for a name change.....

btw if I was looking for capacity I would be using the pathfinder 4l bottom end. I drove a 350z with that motor a few weeks ago and it was excellent

Who has some accurate production numbers of Stageas? C34 and M35 please.

I saw some on the interwebs long time ago, and can't find them now!

why you thinking that you might be in with the cool NM35 turbo crowd! :P

Or are you going to try and start a new group called the Lone Ranger PN35 turbo group!...maybe you shouldgoogle.gif to try and find friends! :P

U thinking of these figures or something different you saw?

Yes all Japanese new car registrations, and 09 was first year on sale for the Skyline crossover...

In context, the M35 registrations in Japan;

Year___2.5 Turbo___2.5 NA___3.0 NA____3.5 NA____Total

02_____6,118_____10,208___ 2,038________0_____18,364

03_____4,004_____ 6,679_____312_________0____10,996

04______656______6,502_____342_____1,005______8,505

05________0______5,149_______0_____1,354______6,503

06________0______3,028_______0______803______3,831

07________0______1,125_______0______309______1,434

08________0_________0_______0________2__________2

Sorry, no splits before 2001 but totals for all Stageas are;

01__13,631

00__16,021

99__20,456

98__25,344

97__48,313

96__18,006

yeh the s14.. im pretty happy man.

im gonna be jumping in a car that has had approx $70k of work done to it, and has receipts to prove..

Glad you went for something inconspicuous...

Haha... having come from an R31 and can remember what the ride was like, I certainly do realise how comfortable (and practical) my Stag is.

    • From my youth: GTi-R clutch change is a massive pain. The gearboxes are fragile? But the car is super cool and I want one 😢
    • Remember this is 1988 tech.
    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
    • meh, it was a good video, clear about the issue and how he dealt with it. A bit heavy on the RTV and very brave to put an RB in anything without rebuilding it first, but otherwise I thought it was good Dose, I'm not sure that having the pickup forward is a big issue; yes of course the oil could shift under brakes but the sump should never be empty enough for that to be a problem (unless you also have a higher volume oil pump, and that oil can't return from the head to the sump quickly enough)
