Ok...

what a little read i just had first thing nice bathroom.. no1 tiling the walls is pretty easy for anyone thinking about tiling and putting in a toilet is super easy just use fuller s40 silicon and wa lah!, paysomeone to do the floor tiles and stuff and do the walls yourself fit a toilet is like two bolts a tape measure and some silicon, then get a professional install of the shower screens 500-1000 or so its really not that bad guys give it a go.(reading up and asking some pro's some questions helps remember if you pay someone for floors you can pick their brains, offer them a beer it helps)

second. that wood grain is the weirdest thing ive seen, someone should convert that bad boy into a funeral car for dead jap car enthusiasts now thats a better idea then importing it in the first place.

third thing is im guna upgrade the deck and ill let everyone know what it sounds like, just waiting on brad to win the lotto and offer a free english conversion and im set :):worship: chuckles. Im not really sure about wheather i beleive that the amp in the deck of a standard car is better then what is in a bought item, i feel as a music enthusiast with a 10k home stereo its more that 10k can sound great or average it depends on what knowledge/time is spent on tuning it (in laymans terms) and unless you get an ultra high end deck the settings you can play around with are usually very basic, but i will see how i go with a under 700 $ stereo off ebay, i only have limited knowledge but very experienced ears. i know what i want to hear, achieving it is another story.. wish me luck..

Oh and brad luck.. cmon no 7!

If you're that into your audio, you should know that no built in amp is ever going to be as good as a good standalone/specialised amp. So do it! You won't regret it.

As for the deck, if you've got the screen and want that to hook up with DVD, TV etc like mine, there are a few options. My Clarion is great, and it has a 7" pop up screen to boot. I went that way because I wanted absolutely everything in the deck, and I got it: DVD, AV IN, iPod, Bluetooth, and even an extra front AV IN. If you're willing to go without bluetooth, there are a heap more options. Iain also has a Clarion which doesn't have DVD, runs entirely off digital media.

nice!

ill be doing mine soon, but theres a few things i need to tackle first.

i reckon ill pour most of my life savings into the audio system. lol

what head unit is it??

Wonder if I should spam this thread till we get to a new page, to avoid the fact that Ryan killed it with a weird youtube redirect :nyaanyaa:

Is that what caused it? Yeah, let's just fill this one up. It's almost impossible to do anything here.

I'll add some white space - that might help.

:spam:

Thanks Ryan :spank:

Yep, its somethign to do with the youtube plugin for PHPBB.. it didnt embed the link he posted properly, instead it mashed up an iframe that causes a full redirect

White space is awesome, but wont help the new page come any sooner

I pasted a bloody link, and the whole thing gets broken! How the hell are we supposed to talk crap all day at work with the recipe chat thread broken!

Cheers Nick for fixing it. And thanks Dunc for making sure I got the blame... bastard...

i hit escape just before the page loaded, didnt get the redirect. took me about 5 goes at it tho haha

I just timed hitting the stop button real carefully, 70% of the time it worked every time

same thing. its easier to find the escape key than stop. dpending on the browser i guess............

on a side note, has anyone who has a telstra t-hub managed to get a generic 'orange tabbee' firmware onto it? after mine upgraded it cant SSH into it :(

might have to do some tricky DNS redirects and force the firmware upgrade to come from my own machine

    • This is the GTR fuel pump. Yellow shows 12V, orange shows earth. The ECU provides the earth to activate the fuel pump relay. The ECU side of teh relay will pull low when the ECU activates. This is the RB20 fuel pump. Almost the same, but a little simpler. You can see I indicated (above) where the 12V line goes down to the RB20 diagram on the overall diagram, whch shows both RB26 and RB20. This is where I show it coming in on the RB20 diagram below. You can see that the dropping resistor is handled differently. When the fuel pump control is not providing earth to the pump, the pump earths through the dropping resistor and thus runs at lower voltage (some is wasted over the resistor) and runs slower. I showed that "not 12V and not quite earth" portion of the wiring in a paler orange. The rest of the wiring that I did not colour on that little section below the pump would be orange when the fuel pump coontroller is providing earth. This drop is handled inside the fuel pump controller in the GTR. Regardless, you can see where 12V is supposed to be, where earth is supposed to be. The key on prime is via the ECU providing the pump for only a few seconds the switching off. You should be able to see that happen.
    • Yeah so when you turn key to IGN the fuel pump should run for a few seconds. If you find the fuel pump relay (and have a multimeter, and a second person) to can check the relay inputs.  One trigger pin should be either fully earthed  The other trigger pin should get 12v from the ECU for say 3 seconds when you turn key to IGN, and at all times that key is at START (note, I said this from memory, it may be the other way around, ie one pin always has IGN 12v and the earth has continuity to earth when you turn the key) One Pin should have a good battery voltage The last pin goes to the fuel pump + Also note that if the power to the relay is good, and the relay is working, it is worth checking the pump has a good earth too. There is a computer in the standard system that increases the earth resistance to slow down the pump when not required, pretty old school and it may have failed
    • All this talk about fuel and fancy ECUs, meanwhile my poor old R32 has neither.... When the ignition is turned on, should there be power running o the fuel pump constantly or just for the few seconds it usually takes to prime the pump? About to go have another look at it, have watched some YouTube vids on how to use a  multimeter and looked at some wiring diagrams but really have NFI what I'm looking for because electricity is invisible
    • Yuh....but weren't all the supertourers, except maybe the Audis, FWD? I don't recall any of the others being AWD.
    • They ran them in Oz Super Tourers too https://www.supertouringregister.com/register/vehicle/212/ (I'm so old I remember racing with Matthew Fox) They ran them in Oz Super Tourers too https://www.supertouringregister.com/register/vehicle/212/ (I'm so old I remember racing with Matthew Fox)
