Its a 2wd but still a lot of custom work to make the gearbox fit. Being manual made it a bit easier to fit the Link ecu but someone on this forum has fitted a Link to their auto S2 C34 . A Link is a viable option for your M35s but there is no "plug in" available - you would have to buy the wire-in version and make all the connections one by one as this guy did.

W58 or more likely a R154, I dunno. Fitted to the old late 80's Supra's turbo and NA.

The R154 goes behind a 1JZ too i think. Don't think they have the best reputation, BUT, compared to a 2JZ Supra Getrag trans, anything might be considered fragile.

lilcrash, its not the power but how you use it... this one looks like its had a gentle life

Manual!!! Can one of you V35 owners please man up and see how hard it is? Thanks

huh?

You do know that the V35 is a Skyline don't you?.....or have I missed something!

C34 owners just dont get it :D

But "On my C34" it's easy :P .

It might be different if ANY 4WD version of ours came from the factory with a manual, completely ignoring the ECU side of things .

As for custom making a gearbox bellhousing, well; you up for it? Hmm.

:D:ermm:

Hmmm... got better things to spend $10k on thanks (if I had $10k to throw around lol)

Only AWD VQ Manual that I know of is the VQ40 Pathfinder which should bolt up (transmission tunnel & bodywork notwithstanding).... but I'm not so sure the gearing would be suitable. :P

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
