It may have been purchased brand new form Japan but I very much doubt it was delivered by Nissan Aus.

nissan aust only delivered limited numbers with the r32 which most of us proudly own in this thread - my brothers gtr is an odd 1 though...its an 89 r32gtr which was in fact sold here in aust as a 'low volume import' by scuderia in vic (his is numbered 001 of only 6 units). it was held in the scuderia showroom for a number of years then sold to its 1st owner in march 91 here in syd to a high profile individual.

no, no its not.

makes me proud to have a silver gtr :)

you can hear some turbo shuffle just like mine!

OK, it must be the red one that my old GTR donated its parts to.

i wouldn't want to be the owner of an ADM gtr with swapped out parts - that would piss me off as a buyer (but thats just me)

Which, will all due respect, makes your bro's car a grey import just like any other.

There were several businesses doing similar things in the early nineties, I recall new Soarers for $150k and new supras for $180k! lol Those vehicles aren't worth any more than any other.

that is interesting as i thought if it was sold here in aust as a local car - it would be worth more than an import, due to its local service history (similar to an ADM gtr)?

oh well, makes my gtr better than his :)

Nah, it was the simple things like rocker covers, valley covers, cam covers and the other bits and pieces that he needed.

Funded my first trip to Jap and the first container back, well worth it.

Late comer onto this thread. Haven't been on SAU for a while now.

Here's my OZ R32.

Black.

102,000km

Unsure to whom and where it was sold to originally. Nothing written in the books ???

VIN:15973

Believe to be owner or raced by Kevin Bartlett at some stage. Not sure if that was just a sale pitch form the guy I bought it from (sounded good at the time). If any one can shed a bit of light on that subject would be good. It has definitely been raced at some stage of its life as it has a number of holes in the body which would indicate a role cage.

I've had it for nearly 8 yrs now and still have a huge grin from ear to ear after driving it.

hi craig,

nice gtr!

as per your sig, can u enlighten me on your 2 stroke making 8000hp :)

i used to luv my 2 stroke race bikes (rgv & rs250)

Used to work for a Oil and gas company that used to use what are called 12V149 Detriot diesels as big water pumps. Sound fantastic when they working hard. 12V meaning V 12 engine. 149 being. 149 cubic inch per cylinder. Big. Use huge amounts of fuel. and leave you with smile a mile wide.

here is a list update, noted changes are the number plates added to Keir's 2 GTR's & also added Craig's black gtr to the list :)

now up to 54 units & i dont really see this list growing much more! only 67 were 'officially' sold in aust so i personally think more than likely that the unaccounted for GTR's are written off/dead :(

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
