No Targa this year. Afraid I have chickened out on using the GTR for events that involve very solid trees so close to the road. That's the reason for the R30. Last year several comments were made from non Skyline people that it would be a pity if it got bent. Just goes to show the high regard these cars in still held in. Also Targa is expensive and now that I am retired the pennies are fewer.

Anyone that is interested, i am thinking of selling mine. Unmodified with just over 31000 ks. Im at a point where i don't want to modify it or put heaps of ks on it. I have a figure in my mind but opinions of what its worth is appreciated. Thanks.

Not good Jim but I understand your perspective.

Because its not the 'premium' jet silver metallic colour, unfortunately its not worth as much hehe

On a serious note though, a recent ADM that sold on Shannon's website went for $53k (burgundy) and another black ADM sold with an undisclosed price (black).

Its hard to say what its worth, what os more important is finding the right buyer that not only pay the price BUT also look after and appreciate your car.

The car looks stunning but to get a premium you need history with documentation and paperwork.

If you have the original press kit, portfolio wallet, owners manual, ADM brochures and booklets then your in business.

If you need clarification on this, feel free to contact me for more info.

PS: I'm in Newcastle on a regular basis so if you would like to catch up let me know.

Hello Aussie delivered GT-R owners :)

I don't own an Aussie one but I'm one of the many that fell in love with them back then as a kid and now at age 37 I have bought a later Japanese import. I picked my completely stock 1993 V-Spec up on the weekend, so I'm in my fifth day of GT-R ownership.

I was wondering if any of you could please let me have a little bit of advice? I want to get a copy of the service and owners manuals in English so that I can maintain and operate the car properly and with the respect that it deserves.

Can you please let me know if this publication looks likely to be the same as the Aussie delivered owners manual? Has anyone bought this item and if so, would you recommend it? Are there any better alternatives?

http://www.motortraders.net/store/item.asp?code=99902J7400

Any other advice regarding handy documentation to get would be great.

Thankyou very much!

Mike

Question (and sorry if it's been covered before):-

Do you guys discuss with one another what "Sum Insured" your cars are entitled to attract (as a true market value), and thus generate parity?

I would hate to think that by owning a rare item that holds its value and even appreciates, insurance companies would take advantage of disparity and insure your cars at a broad spectrum of what they deem to be 'market value'.

Hi Terry,

Last year when I insured my ADM with Shannon's, I was advised that market value is between 40-60k thus I had the option of insuring my car for whatever price I most comfortable with which affected my annual premium.

To answer your question though...we haven't really shared on the forum what our cars are insured for.

GTR 500 is back for sale?

http://www.carsales....find=gtr|CarAll

Finally........ it looks like its sold.

Only 1 ADM for sale at the moment.

Thin picking for anyone who wants to own one.

Hullo Jim

Didn't know there was another Aus delivered in Newcastle. I get a few tyre kickers every now and then, most are dreamers but you never know. If your interested I could tell any serious people about yours being for sale. I wouldn't part with mine for less than $60k but then I might be prejudiced. Shannons had no trouble with a $50k agreed value. email is [email protected] if you want to contact.

You too Bob, give me a note when your up here next, I am in Merewether.

We really should try and get an ADM together.........

I caught up with Jim the other day and he his literally around the corner from you.

BTW....... his car is a beauty.

I'm in Newcastle regularly so i might do that next time up.

Cheers,

Bob.

Well what a week and a half.

Had a timing belt service and all driveline fluids changed.

After a day realised something was wring with radiator neck as it kept trying to slip off and partly did on a drive. Took Hose off and half the neck was missing, broken etc. OK order new Koyo alloy radiator (this was thursday)

Got radiator this morning and installed during the day so now this part is all good. Notice s crap load of grease around drivers side wheel arch, yes my drivers inner cv boot split and spat most of its contents out, so now to sort this out.

When it rains it pours!

Car are fun eh! Good luck with it all though.......

My daughters little Pulsar did that, makes a mess doesn't it!

Yeah its not pretty. I think Marko recently went through the same issue.

wasn't me...my gtr is becoming a bit of a statue which annoys me

Nothing worse than preserving a car for the next owner IMO.

Do we have this red gtr on our register list? Who owns it :) I know its a long shot haha

since nissan would have supported that piece, I'll bet it was one of the prototypes, might even have become one of the toruing cars later when they built more chassis, or maybe it became the pace car/falken car.

100% correct........

From what I can tell, they had about 5-6 of these pre-release vehicles.

Cheers,

Bob.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
