almost 1000rpm of spool difference, although completely different dyno setups so not really that compareable. Still it really does look like his is set up perfectly.

He is also using external gate and manifold, what are you using?

Internal gat and no manifold. I get full boost by about 4k on Trent's dyno. Forget the other chart. Ill post up Trent's one asap.

Gives me hopes to see the gtx spool faster than gt. Means ill have same/more top end with better spool.

4K actually sounds around about what I would have expected for that setup, thats not too bad.

Trent recons a bit of a fiddle n we can knock 500 Ish off. And give me another 20+ throughout midrange.

this is probably stupid but could t be the standard intercooler piping is also choking it..its only 60mm tube and that turbo is trying to push a large volume of air..also dont know what cat its running..still seems to me like its just choking up...im not convinced its just tune related

Quite possibly but Trent recons mainly actuator based. I'm sure he would mention if it seemed to be choking at the cat or cooler. 3" highflowed cat.

Well he's got the advantage of having had it on his dyno and seeing where the potential is so thats pretty promising, I guess if VCT isn't (but can be) enabled there's definitely gains to be had just there. Sounds quite promising, and basically means GTX3076Rs will be full boost at ~3500rpm on RB25s which is pretty sweet.

Get rid of the cat.

How many people here that run this turbo are actually using a cat? or can say they have seen this turbo on a car with a cat? and are making a fair comparison on the response side of things. No cat will make a big difference

id be getting a 80mm hotpipe and at least 70mm cold pipe made up as well.. PM scottynm35 hes near dandenong and will make that up for you.. He can probably gut your cat as well..

And get all this done before it goes to avo Monday week?

its a 3 inch cat on a 600hp capable turbo, of course its a restriction..

infact his whole setup is a restriction ....no offense shifty ;)

No.its not. Lol. At 600hp yes. But 3" Turbo Back is enough at this power surely The cat Is highflowed to 3" too. So id assume thats ok. I have 4" intake. That's fine. What else is.there?

    • I get you, we’ll see I’m aiming for 200ish kw now and hopefully 300rwkw down the line after some upgrades maybe like headstuds, E85 flex fuel etc  so trying to make it final for that now, I can get a GTT airbox for $280 so it’s not too bad but not sure if there’s better ways to spend that money. I seen online they say pod filter which isn’t enclosed isn’t good especially for a plus T.      hard to say what to do
    • Meh. How much power can you make from a +T anyway? I wouldn't have though it would be enough to challenge the airbox. It's not as if it's tiny compared with the turbo one. As to putting a pod in a stock airbox .... it's not the filter element that would be restrictive. It would be the air inlet to the box that would be the narrow point, which you could open up regardless of what element was inside. On my R32 I opened up the sort of triangular opening in the bottom front corner of the box, deformed (heated, moulded) some 4" stormwater pipe to fit to that opening and punched a 4" hole down through the inner guard to the spot where the stock intercooler used to be. This was purely in the search for a cold intake, but you could do something similar if you need to open up the inlet side of it. The AFM tube size is the same for both NA and turbo, so the outlet from the airbox is same same anyway. If you're going to do the right thing, then an aftermarket ECU won't care about the AFM (ie, you can get rid of it). But even if it was still there, people pull >300rwkW through them all day, and I suspect you won't be going there.
    • R34 RB25de Neo by the way ^
    • Doing a +T on my car and I’ve read the precious forums lots of mixed reviews from sometime back.  checking if anyone has any ideas for airbox or enclosed pod filter or solutions?  I was thinking stock GTT box but some say it’s restrictive? I seen some people try fit in a pod in the box anyone done that recently?  not any good enclosed options ? Thanks
