it's all well and good to build a 1000hp race car, but it wouldn't have the reliability of the veyron, nor the warranty, nor the comfort, everyday driveability, etc of the veyron. also it sure as hell wouldn't do over 400kmh because the aerodynamics of a skyline would stop it well below that.

i'd choose the veyron everyday of the week because it is a piece of motoring history, and also at the end of the day, 1 is a super luxury high performance car that is extremely rare, the other is just a worked common sports car.

1 makes 1000hp from the factory and as mentioned retains warranty and all the comforts of an exotic car

the other a car that has got 4 times the power it car out with from factory...

Like anyone would ever drive one enough to consciously think 'shit this car is so reliable'..(especially after dropping 1 million euros for it)... and choosing a car because it can do 400km/h.. real decisive factor in the purchase there champ. You have to ring up VW and ask for them to provide you with tyres and a racetrack so you can tug your cock while the speedo says 400 anyhow. When those tyres have to be made by blind bulgarian slaves and replaced every 50km, and you have to stop for fuel every 5 minutes, enjoy your livable, reliable, street legal (zomg!!1!) supercar. pfft.

I'd agree. I think the Veyron is the pinnacle of waste of money, and isn't even very good at anything other than what it was designed to do (i.e, have a 400kmh top speed).

What good is 400kmh top speed being road legal, when there is no road to legally do it on. (sans germany). And even then, I'd imagine there are far more entertaining cars to get to ~300 on a street.. I wonder if anyone has hit 400kmh on the autobahn anyway, to validate the "but its street legal!1111" argument.

One thing we're forgetting is that owning a 1000hp GTR is actually within reach of mere mortals, whereas owning a Veyron is basically impossible, even if you're rich enough (they are limited numbers after all).

While I would love to own a Veyron, realistically, I'm more likely to own a 1000hp GTR. I can live with that :-)

difference being that 1 car is massively worked, has no form of factory warranty and wouldn't even come close to passing an emissions test or be close to being road worthy and the other is exactly how it left the factory.

would also be interesting to see the top speed difference. i'm guessing that above 350kmh the r34 would struggle and the veyron would very quickly pass it.

another diffrence would be 1 car is worth 2million dollies and the other 250k....... big diff if you ask me.....
