I went once about 3 years ago. Never again.

Autosalon could be soooo much better if they put a bit more thought into catering for the more broader car enthusiast community. People who actually take pride in tastefully modifying their cars. Rather than cheap and nasty jobs that makes you laugh and just wonder..........why?

Ive never seen so many pink charades and gold plated corollas in my life.

Popped collars and Adidas bum bags is the dress code too :(

dave thats so last year, i believe fake oriton man purses + g-star raw singlets are the new dress code :D

but in all seriousness, autosalon has been a joke for a long time now... anyone with a real car with some actual wrench time under the hood in a tasteful jdm styled car simply gets shunned in favor of some chopjob lexus dumped on chromies..

What we would call tastefully modified is someone elses boring

some people just get attracted to shiny things :D

I remember the one autosalon I went to (4 or 5 years ago) there were 3 R32 GTRs owned by autostyle. No bling wheels, no bodykits/neons, stock paint & their hoods open with quite a bit of work done to them.

My friend & I were drooling over them & taking pics but everyone else was ignoring them for all the candy painted lancers

it wasn't until they put them on the dyno & pulled 600+awkw that there was a big crowd around the GTRs :ermm:

says quite a bit about the type of crowd that attends these things

the people who enter this abomination they call a car show never drive there cars either, stones might flip up n hit one of their 16 under car tvs whcich they watch on a regular basis.

real cars get driven not put away in an air tight room where no spec of dust can get on it

all u need to enter and draw a crowd is a body kit non stadard paint n oversized chrome wheels

Was pretty shit. NS stand had some cool cars and RH9 is just awesome. The Zoo girls in bikinis weren't too bad either lol. Lucky my gf won free tickets, I would not like to have paid to get in. Too much chrome and commodores

When i went 4 years ago, i was 18. Even back then i thought it was sh!t.

Nobody cares for big powah GTR's or any car that looks standard besides JDM wheels. Until it hits the dyno and blows flames in there face and then they go "Zomg Fast and the furious is true!" and really all they drool over is the T88 turbo not even knowing what it is there for.

Oh - The year i went, DREMPT was there with his fake intercooler and not even any plumbing for it. Exposed end tanks FTL.

I admire clubs that go there to get exposure though the cars they show maybe not to everyones taste at least they are trying to get there name out there. I suppose.

LMAO i went this year and i was standing next to some bumbag sporting sick c*nt telling his mate that RH9 has twin turbos, one in the front and the other in the boot.

Hes mate then asked him "CUZ WATS RH9 STAND FOR BRO" and he replied with "CUZ WALLAH U DONO NOTHIN ABOUT CARS BRO ITS THE MOTAHHH"

;) true story, that wasnt even 1/4 of the lulz which took place

oh god, can just picture these two dudes with head shaved at the top and curly mullet at the back.

serioulsy that just goes to show how much the people who attend these shows actually know about cars, and thats y u end up with all the pieces of shit that u see at autosalon that are soo disgustingly modified

    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
    • When I said "wiring diagram", I meant the car's wiring diagram. You need to understand how and when 12V appears on certain wires/terminals, when 0V is allowed to appear on certain wires/terminals (which is the difference between supply side switching, and earth side switching), for the way that the car is supposed to work without the immobiliser. Then you start looking for those voltages in the appropriate places at the appropriate times (ie, relay terminals, ECU terminals, fuel pump terminals, at different ignition switch positions, and at times such as "immediately after switching to ON" and "say, 5-10s after switching to ON". You will find that you are not getting what you need when and where you need it, and because you understand what you need and when, from working through the wiring diagram, you can then likely work out why you're not getting it. And that will lead you to the mess that has been made of the associated wires around the immobiliser. But seriously, there is no way that we will be able to find or lead you to the fault from here. You will have to do it at the car, because it will be something f**ked up, and there are a near infinite number of ways for it to be f**ked up. The wiring diagram will give you wire colours and pin numbers and so you can do continuity testing and voltage/time probing and start to work out what is right and what is wrong. I can only close my eyes and imagine a rat's nest of wiring under the dash. You can actually see and touch it.
