WTF, no long sleeve Super Lap t shirts.

On a positive note, Awesome turn out, lots of shiny bits in the stalls and lots of nice people.

Also the double choc with nuts ice creams me and my daughter had were sweeeeet.

I only got out there for a couple of hours on Friday arvo. My camera went flat, but I managed to get a few pics....

thanks for the photo link

1.33's for the 'Handbrake' r35 and 1.32's for the Gt Auto r35 is pretty impressive for a 'shakedown' weekend.

YESSS toe master.. we did good. john was heaps happy with the 1.35 boston did in it in the morning session, pitty the engine expired and one of the air filters caught fire in the second session. stock bottom end vq30 7900rpm 20 psi. ish.. head gasket failure or some bent rods. i will find out soon i suspect.. either way it wont turn over.

Bugger, I spoke to JP last night and it sounded like there was a bit of fiddling around getting it sorted yesterday. He was copping some shite for his aero work two years ago, now it looks pretty pedestrian compared to some of the wilder efforts out there.

He was pretty happy with the relative performance of the batmobarge since it is (was) still running a stock bottom end.

Anyway that looks like a pretty good time by Boston.

Awesome weekend. Was great to meet people face to face from SAU forums. Thanks for coming to say hi.

I'm so happy with how my car went. 1:42.43 was quicker than i expected.

So many little things in this last few days that had to be sorted but it all came together thanks to good people around me willing to help out.

Whats the rumor about Cyber accusing Sierra Sierra of running naws? great pits etc but on track was boring as bat shit. 10 mins of nothing, cars go out, 2 mins red flag, repeat. Drifting started great, then went the same way. Seemed like no-one knew what was happening out there..

Russ....awesome time mate beating some impressive cars out there - well done!

Lol looks like I've got no hope of keeping in front of you at the Vic tracks now

Unfortunately that is the way pretty much all 'big' events have gone over the last couple of years. The organizers need to figure out very early on if they want a participants event or a spectators event.

i really dont have a problem with it, thats what the sports like people really dont need to be stimulated by something every 10 seconds do they ?

oh and which 32 was yours russman there were one or two there that sounded f**king angry as down the straight

thanks for lending me a 13mm spanner to fix our brake master cyl on friday :)

mayby i should wide body my r32gtr.... needs to fit big rubber

Ahh. Dave... I didn't put the forum name to the face haha.

Shame about the head gasket but good to see a decent time first! You and John would be happy I assume?

Don't worry bout wide body, Just get a hammer out! it's what we did haha

Mine had silver front guards. Has a screamer so probably the one you're thinking of.

    • Old Son, did you re-use the Holden ABS in the new shell or try a different module?
    • Yeah, nah. I had the actuator rod off it today. The arm will not move at all. Neither out, nor in. Yeah, you'd think so, but I've been thinking about that. Even when the actuator rod fell all the way off at the beginning of this saga, it would build more boost and faster in lower gears than it would in higher gears, and you'd think that that was the opposite of what should happen. But I strongly suspect that there is a thing with the gearing getting the revs to rise faster, that there must be some transient effect with the gas flow rate rising quickly, that you don't get with the more steady state case of the higher gears. Keep in mind - the gate is not shut in either of my weirdnesses. So things are not "normal". We normally think about a turbo spooling up (below the wastegate target) with the gate shut. I have all sorts of mental models running now where the gate is a little bit open, and having it stuck open allowing gas out while it should be going through the turbine has all sorts of weird effects (in these mental models). I'm thinking in the higher gears, the ex mani pressure builds to the point where enough gases spill out the wastegate to just prevent the pressure rising much more at all, or just creeping up, all the whole the revs are increasing and getting closer to the point where a gear shift becomes necessary.
    • Is it possibly wastegate actuator itself is sticking, or even the rod to flapper? Otherwise I reckon things are getting a bit rusty/worn   Also odd it won't boost in 3rd to 5th, but will in 1st, I'd expect the other way around with it slightly open as there's more time on your way to redline for it to spin up
    • Does anyone know ow what these two plugs are for and if they should be unplugged? Just put the dash back together and can't remember if these were plugged in before or unplugged! (Blue and white plugs) 🤦🏽‍♂️
    • Did some FASTing ...got the impression that the actual part# was a moot point ; seems all of these hardlines for coolant are discontinued/NLA... like, I take it you're after the hardline that bolts onto to the manifold...that's NLA according to amayama & nengun .... ...just to clear up some confusion, they typically mounted the AAC valve to the intake manifold somewhere near a coolant passage, so the body of the valve heats up & holds it open when engine's up to temp - no coolant flows through the valve, it's a mechanical, thermal connection.
