Thanks for the responses to my questions/comments :)

I didnt actually realise the T67 wasnt a Twin Scroll turbo, but I do know the fact that you need to have both turbo/manifold as twin scroll items. Well, it seems I'll have to go with the T67 regardless, as my previous 'budget' just got hammered due to a family member requiring medical bills paid. Oh well. So, just to clarify, the T67 or the SH should both be 300+rwkw quite easily? With supporting mods? I think I got that part right :)

Stupid laptop wont let me look at ebay... Why oh why .. pinch.gif

Yeah mate, T67 is 300kw all day long.

Arthur, to publicly clarify the TD06SL2 20g is a 300kw item on SR's and Evo's.

I'm sure thats on E85 and well sorted motors, but I'm not talking about hens teeth to find. NS.com and evolutionoz both have plenty of testament in the way of dyno sheets.

Stop doubting your purchase! LOL

WTF!!! I didn't even get a sticker! feel so cheated :(

Haha who is a hater? The results are very close to garret for half the price, I can't imagine anyone hates that! jealous maybe not but hate! :)

All the people who paid over double for their turbo and make less power and response... and have slower cars :nyaanyaa:

I for one have had my GT3076R since WAY before I was aware of Kinugawa turbos, would freely admit a T67 is as responsive if I drove a car running one and found it to be the case. I also got my GT3076R for ~$2000nzd, the cheapest I can get a Kando T67 landed is $1400-1500nzd which I'd have needed an exhaust manifold, external wastegate and a bunch of other custom work to get installed. I have less power than people are making with T67s, a large part of that is to do with supporting mods, normal 98 petrol and the fact I just haven't bothered pushing it that hard. So far the highest I've seen anyone making on a GT3076R and a T67 is pretty much equal, so while I'm definitely not going to flame T67s - I think its basically retarded to bag the Garrett GT-series seeing as they've been around so much longer and are proven to all f**k.

If I were to do it all again now I'd personally go a Holset HX35 over a T67.

BTW, heres a recently installed Kinugawa T67 I referred to looking forward to the results from a bit earlier in the thread. It handled being started and a couple of quick boosts before compressor wheel met compressor housing, the turbo has been disassembled to check for oil starvation or any other installation related issues and it basically seems that one got through QC. Or something.

Who bagged a GT series Garrett?

I have never seen a turbo have that kind of damage from hitting a compressor housing, they normally just wear down the wheels... Have seen a lot of turbos like that which have eaten bolts/stones etc. so my question is what did it eat?

That looks more like something got through the filter, like a loose bolt or something! I would be pulling the entire intake assembly out to look for it imo.

I had a turbo where the housing and compressor made love, it still boosted but it sounded like a jet engine, probably the loudest whining noise I've ever heard, and yeah it just ground the edges down every so slightly, didn't snap anything off.

    • Hahahahah, look, your not wrong πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and thank you brother πŸ™πŸΌ jokes aside, I haven't driven the car in 6+ years and it's like I'm starting all over again, and furthermore the car is wayyyy more powerful and it's characteristics are night and day different now compared to what I remember. So I'm slowly easing myself back into the groove, the car is literally scaring me a bit tbh.....it feels like it has 200hp more than it does on paper and responds like a cammed Ls v8, and-some! πŸ˜… every single bit of throttle pedal travel and input has instant response all the way to the floor, zero flat spots or labouring feelings, it's nuts. • If the house has ever been sold before too, they have photos from that etc.
    • I used to do that, but then I got savvy. The benefits of having your phone photos geotagged outweigh the negatives. I just don't publish any photo straight off the phone/out of the gallery/off google photos, etc. If I'm going to use a photo, other than for SMSing to fam, I will always open it on the computer, copy it/otherwise edit it and save down without the original metadata, before using it. For example, posting photos of my engine bay into a thread on here, to show someone a plug or something - I will just screen-cap the section I want to use and paste that section direct from the clipboard into the post. No metadata goes along with.
