Has any 1 on here tried the KD external gates? I'm curious to see the quality. I mean the quality of the turbo's seem quite high for the price I wonder if the same can be said for other parts they offer.

I have used kando lines and a kando manifold, they were all top quality in all ways.

I am not sure about their external gate but if the price was a good margin less I would be more willing to give it a go than I would any other generic brand.

I hope that helps.

front housing - massive. rear housing - tiny...........

EDIT: for the millionth time its the same rear housing on a T67 as a TD06 lol

could probably do it using one of those bolt on gate adapters provided the compressor housing doesnt hit the strut tower

Actually im pretty sure if you read back through the 100 page thread Simon makes mention of trying to low mount it and what issues he ran into

i wouldnt go near that wastegate it looks like the rest of the cheap ebay gates only in a different box..............thats one thing you dont skimp on is the wastegate...............for the $299 you could get a tial 38mm or spend a bit more and go a tial 44mm for under $390 delivered to your door

you could get that same 50mm gate eiji is selling less then half off what he is asking check out ebay

EGT, monitor your exhaust temp when tuning. Tells you when you are starting to max things out or if you have restrictions.

Cool thing to have.

What does a setup like that cost and how easily can you hook it into most tuning packages?

Are you sure?? I can see that they use the same 11 blade turbine wheel BUT the housings CAN be different.. e.g 8cm 10cm 12cm..

I still believe the T67-25G is bigger than a TD06-25G especially if its a 8cm.. if i'm wrong let me know what 2 turbo's you are comparing cause it is a little confusing with all the different TD06 you can get cheers.gif

    • GTR front looks good. If you don't like it, I'll swap you a rolling shell R33 for it. Give you a fresh base to start with.
    • soon I also prefer the old look. At least I have more clearance for wheels up front now.
    • @PranK I think a few links in the original post need fixing...
    • Has equal chance of cleaning an AFM and f**king an AFM. I think you can work out what happened. When the Hitachi ECU sees the AFM die and goes into the associated limp mode, then it will start and run just fine, because it ignores the AFM and just runs on idle maps that will do what it needs to get it going. But there is no proper load signal, so that's about all it can do. My suggestion? If you don't want to go full aftermaket ECU, then get some R35 GTR AFM cards and some housings to put them in, in the stock location, and Nistune the ECU. Better to do a good upgrade than just replace shitty 40 year old tech with the same 40 year old tech.
    • So my car was recently having trouble starting on initial crank, I would need to feather the gas for it to start up but besides that it would start and run fine. So I clicked the idle air control valve (with throttle body cleaner) and cleaned the MAF sensors (with MAF cleaner). The start up issue was fixed and now the car turns over without the assist of the throttle, but the car is in limp mode and wont rev past 2.5k RPM. From what I understand the IACV would not put the car in limp mode, so I am to believe it is the MAF sensors, but it was running fine before and now I cant get it out of limp mode. I cleaned the MAF made sure the o rings were seated properly. Made sure the cables were plugged in properly, the cables also both read the same voltage. Does anybody know why this is or what could be causing this or how to get it out of limp mode?
