dumb question time but I'm sick of reading back, did 50 odd pages and don't have a clear answer.

unopened 20.

tdo6 L2 20G 8cm for around 260rwkw?will probably be getting cams at the same time. with a pfc and z32.

on same note, which sub 1k manifold?

If your after sub 1k it's either the cheap spec eBay Kiwi steam pipe jobbie or a quality made in adelaide Kelway steam pipe made to order.

Pics of my SR Kelway manifold are a few pages back.

Save the money you are going to spend on cams and leave them std. They may improve performance but I have had experience with Apexi 260/9mm cams hurting performance and went back to std. Cam gears are a good option though

Spend the extra $100-200 and get an ETM, 6boost or Brae manifold. Tried and tested...

slippylotion...have to ask. I liked your pics...but do you have any affiliation with Kelway?...lol you are pushing them in every post. All for people vouching for good products but there is little in the way of results and arent they more expensive then 6boost etc...so well over the 1k option the OP is after?

don't really car what it is, also long as it sounds cool and my car bakes.

i googled him but didn't get any info about contacting him?

EDIT - roy, have mates who have had shocking experiences with 6boost so i want nothing to do with them, will google/get quotes from the other 2 though.

If only they were side feeders i would be onto it :(

I won't be needing my side feed 740cc hi-flowed series 2 things anymore if your interested, will be cheap cheap!

Not exactly sure how they were modified but it had something to do with a jig and grinding the ports, was told the same method is used by deatschwerks and the like?? apparently the spray pattern ends up being identical to a standard GTR injector.

PM me with a price if you want battery, Ill keep it in mind :)

ARTZ, im pretty sure i was originally telling you to get them yeah... But you concluded that you wanted something better, I more or less didnt disagree with you. I mean id rather ID's to them also, its just about simplicity and cost with a side of quality.

Bugger ! I am running one and it seems durable enough. It didn't do anything to improve performance over my old Trust manifold, (there is a little evidence that it hurt performance...so it certainly didnt improve by 300rpm like the consensus I got when researching) I know a few people running ETM and are happy with the service and quality. I have seen Brae manifolds on drift cars and the quality seems good and he is good at responding to queries as I am considering getting him to copy my old Trust manifold and going back to a 6-2-1 design vs the 6-1 6boost design

He is a mate and does quality work so I like to recommend him as a lot of other guys do for their favourite places. I did have his low mount mani before I changed to high mount. He also makes rollcages, suspension arms and braces and a heap more. Pretty much fabricates anything you want.

He is cheaper than 6 Boost and the like. I think 6 Boost SR manifold is about $990 where as Kelway is about $690. $895 for an RB manifold.

after googling some shit, I'm leaning towards a brea. thanks for your help.

Big cams for that size turbo. I'm using HKS step 2 264 in/out 12/11.5mm lift.

They are quite large for the application, but they sound cool at idle. It was running the same cams with the standard turbo with 19psi up it.

Felt pretty strong then so I can't wait to open it up once the fuel pump is in.

    • You know how your car rolled through a fence in your last jacking escapade? Scissor jacks increase the likely hood of that sort of thing happening immensely!
    • http://calfinn.com.au/product/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c   I have this and fits under a S3 33 GTR with no issues. Purchased in 2009 and not one issue. It was $950 back then. Not cheap but something so important isn’t worth cheaping out on.
    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
