Serious commitment issues lol.

Ron, why don't you buy one of each, do a few back to backs and settle this debate once and for all? Then you'll definitely get the best option. OR, bolt them all on at the same time and live life in the fast lane! :P

that sounds almost threatening, and that just makes you sound silly.

it must have been the part where i made a threat that made it sound threatening. sounds like you've been watching too many hollywood flicks.

my point was the use of the word slander implies some pretty strong shit, and i certainly wasn't slandering anyone.

yes like i said it is naive to expect good business after giving him Bad/neutral feedback...

as a general rule if I am not happy with services received and wish to leave bad feedback.. I say nothing until I am damn sure that transaction is complete and i have no need to contact them again....

Im not saying its right, its just the way the ebay system is..

If you truely think you are wronged maybe you should contact ebay with your problem and see what they say..I'd be very interested to see what they say..He has afterall offered a warranty and is obliged to honour that regardless of the feedback you give..

are you f**king serious?

so if a buyer receives shitty service, then ebay as always asks for feedback, you give them feedback accurately reflecting your experience with them, that the buyer then should expect to be blackmailed into changing it to something it's not?

pretty sure anyone would read 'use your words very carefully' as the beginnings of a threat champ.

perhaps you should 'use your words very carefully'......... OR someone may consider that to be a threat, and may be a sad panda :(

see what I did there? Diffused the threat, PHEW. wouldn't want to get you cranky, you interwebz nasty things.

lol there was no threat made though? i didn't say "or i'll chop your legs off", the point is you need to be careful about the wording you use, and that's exactly what i said, no more no less, throwing around the word slander implies some pretty shitty stuff.

if you took it as a threat, i'm deeply apologetic, now forgive me or i'll murder you and everyone you love

I'm definitely not going to be recommending Kando turbos to anyone after reading the above.

each to their own, i'll still recommend their stuff, the turbo feels f**king strong on my car, just with a caution to not need it in a short time frame as it may come on time, it may not (for what ever reason), but don't plan an event based on it rocking up when it should as it could end in tears, and already has for a few mates (i was lucky in the scheme of things)

I still support the Kando also.

I got a reply from Eiji Takada himself in the early hours of this morning.

Courteously responded to my email within 1 business day of it being sent, and offered me a further discount from the current ebay 'sale' prices on the items i wanted. Offered to send me the Paypal request straight up so I could pay the invoice and have the items shipped.

Cant say I expected more, it turned out well.

As reference I got roughly the same courtesy from Real Street Performance (US Based) when I odered my cams and springs.

In Kando's defence, he supplies a good quality, well performing product, at a third of the price of comparable products. You cannot really expect to also receive grade A service on top of that, especially when dealing via eBay (although, I did when I dealt with him). It's a trade-off, you have to take the good with the bad.

In nisskid's defence, threatening to block simply because of neutral feedback is a bit unprofessional, and I would say poor business practice, he could have discussed it with him first before taking any drastic measures.

Anyway, arguing over this is counter productive, and pointless!

I'm taking my R33 with T67-25G to Allstar on Tuesday, after having done the 1000km run in. Hopefully will see some impressive power figures. Just with 98 unleaded for now...

Yes slander is a big word that I quite possibly may have used out of context..

But let's look at another big word "blackmail"..

By not leaving good feedback and then expecting to continue business you are in effect blackmailing him with a threat of bad publicity are you not...

Maybe they are cheaper in Oz than here? Over here they don't seem much cheaper than plain bearing Precision turbos.

as reference, a PT JB i can get for about 1000 delivered from the states.

a kando about 600 delivered with the hand picked optionals.

I wouldnt say they are MUCH cheaper than a PT, as the PT are extremely well priced for what they are.... but the Kando is definitely the cheapest option in terms of knowing what your getting. Still a good 400 bucks cheaper and I know its just a MHI/Trust replica, so thats pretty cool.

Garrett prices are outrageous in Aus, and about 1400 from the US with an EXG housing. better value to buy PT or pay a little extra and get an FP HTA model

Just make sure everything is working mint before you go... I think Sean is going to kill me if another car with a Kinugawa turbo comes in for a tune half put together and not working properly.

Actually I need my car tuned as well, might try and blackmail him into doing mine next week

But let's look at another big word "blackmail"..

By not leaving good feedback and then expecting to continue business you are in effect blackmailing him with a threat of bad publicity are you not...

by not leaving positive feedback, by leaving neutral feedback, i am reflecting my dealings with them accurately. they were not positive nor negative, they were neutral, in my comment i noted that the product was very good. if the service was as described like the product was, then it would have been a positive experience. the idea of the feedback system is to keep dealers in check, keep them honest to their word and make sure future buyers have an accurate idea of the dealer. if someone saw my neutral feedback, they'd instantly see that the product was good, but the delivery was slow, they can make their mind up based on an accurate description of my dealings with them. i have had many good dealings with people on ebay who provide both the product and service as described, they received a positive feedback, it's hardly fair to dealers like this that dealers who don't provide the same level of service receive the same feedback.

that is not blackmailing... threatening to block me unless i lie about my experience with them to not tarnish their feedback system is. actually technically it's probably closer to extortion as blackmail is generally used for monetary value.

Sounds about right, what triggered me to say that was the statement that Kandos are 1/3rd of the price of comparable products and while they are cheaper they are most definitely not 1/3rd. After paying attention for a while I'd feel much more comfortable getting a genuine Borg Warner, Garrett, Precision or Turbonetics turbo and get something long time proven and supported for possibly slightly more outlay.

    • Gday Thought it was about time I started a build thread! As expected this project has snowballed into a huge financial liability, but unless you’re strong willed and responsible, it’s not a surprise. Background -  My first turbo car was an R32 GTS-4, got my full license and then totalled my Au Falcon a week later, so while trying to sell my RMZ450 dirtbike to buy another car a bloke offered to swap the R32 which at the time I felt like I was ripped off but looking back and seeing prices of those now ($40kish) it was a good deal, I didn’t know enough about these cars to appreciate what I had so sold it before the RB20 blew up. Between here and there, out of 12 cars I’ve owned the note worthy ones are a V8 Lexus SC400 (soarer), a couple of XR6 Turbos and my beloved S15 which I had for about 3 years, picked it up for $12500, repairable write off but she was fine, gun metal grey/pewter and bone stock/unmolested until I got my hands on it. Ended up spending about the value of the car and 280kw, 2 demerit points by the time I got defected and sold it for $14500 (also $40kish in today’s market, rip) Fast forward to the present day, I’m in a much better position financially and daily an MQ Triton (great cars, pipe down Ranger Bois), I cruised marketplace and car sales for a few months looking for another R32, the best deal I could find was an absolute rust bucket half finished project for $12000, until this R33 popped up in Port Macquarie for $18k - unregistered and barely running but decent shape, kept an eye on it for a few weeks and the price steadily dropped, $16k then $15k then $14k, that was the point where I was like shit someone’s gonna snatch this up! It was owned by a young bloke who had big plans but him and his missus just had a baby so smartest move financially for them but big gain for me. So 2 days later I’m towing a car trailer to pick this thing up. Roughly 2 weeks and $3500 later I’m cruising around Newcastle in my beat up R33 all smiles and dose noises! It only needed some basic shit to get it going, coil packs and air flow meter, electrical stuff and all fluids changed, 158k kms and running pretty good, nice smooth engine after oil and coolant flush - when I say coolant I mean it had been filled up with tap water, every gallery and heater element was filled with rust, 8-9 flushes later and still had brown liquid coming out but she’ll be right. The car was painted R34 Bayside Blue at some point but whether it was a cheap job or just not looked after is anyone’s guess, clear coat flaking like sausage roll.  Was rethinking my choices and contemplating life, had it up for sale for $22k - still cheaper than any registered R33 but got little interest, next minute I had an opportunity at work - 6 months overseas for good money, so that was a no brainer, fast forward again and here we are with a 50% finished project. Current Mods - 200ish KW according to butt dyno Was tuned with Apexi PowerFC EBC (old school Greddy Profec)  Stock turbo (more shaft play than a Tinder date gone right) 3inch turbo back Varex muffler  Aftermarket injectors of mystery size, Power FC showed 36% duty cycle at full boost so not behd good size Someone had good intentions but stuck with the stock R33 MAF so we had misfires at 6000rpm due to the MAF hitting 5.2V So far I’ve redone the entire interior with carpet form Car Mats Direct, new Seats and steering wheel from Autotechnica, also sound system by Autobarn (mainly Kicker) Also MCA pro comfort coil overs - Hands down best purchase yet, worlds of improvement over the tired 30yrold shocks Goals - 450kw/600hp on flex tune New paint job - Midnight Purple 2 Engine is at the shop getting rebuilt with forged rods a pistons, new valves and springs, ATI Harmonic balancer, Aeroflow 7.5L sump, rear head drain and oil restrictors as per oil control thread* and cam covers modded for larger breathers, other stuff I can’t recall of the top of my head Parts purchased and to be installed once the engine is done -  Engine loom from Wiring Specialties including these options: Haltech Nexus S3 R35 Coil pack conversion  PRP Dual Trigger kit Fan controller  Other Parts -  262 Kelford Cams Turbo - Hypergear ATR43SS3-ProS with T51R mod (whistly boi) 6 boost manifold (high mount) 50mm Turbosmart Pro gate (plumbed back for legal reasons) HKS Super Turbo Exhaust with High Flow Cat Custom 3.5inch dump and front pipe 1500cc Bosch injectors  Fuel Pump walbro 525 Haltech MAP and IAT sensors Haltech Flex Sensor Fenix Radiator with dual thermo fans LS1 Alternator Kit Oil Filter Relocation from EFI solutions and Cooling pro oil cooler Many other things sitting in my garage waiting for that engine to come back. Progress pics to follow -
    • Losses have to be less with DC coupling. Provided the battery inverter has decent MPP tracking ability - which really shouldn't be a problem. It's not 2005 any more.
    • Hi, Will the R33 GTR rear brake backing plates fit a GTST? I'm struggling to find GTST ones but can find new GTR ones.   Thanks.
    • I also got the same floor mats for a bit of extra bazzaz haha
    • Some more close up pics now that I’m back to working on the car, the loop pile is nice but again haven’t compared it to the other types in person, it’s hard to tell from the pics on the website. View of the hemming on the edges too, it comes in 2 pieces - front and back, honestly very happy with it for anyone on the fence.  Also attached my previous pics from further up as it didn’t let me post them directly before. (Nothing worse than photo bucket pics that aren’t hosted anymore years later)
