Replaced faulty Z32 AFm and made 252.5awkw @ 16psi today. Very happy with the results. Tuner was happy to go to 18psi to see what power we'd make, but I needed the car, and was happy with breaking 250 anyway.

And chopping out of the middle bit?

Yeah, that's the plan; there seems to be plenty of stiffness in the lower lip, that it won't require the centre bar.

I just have to find some mesh that doesn't look cheap & tacky. I'm thinking some stainless woven mesh.

Yeah, bailed because my air/fuel ratios were not very friendly. Got her tuned today and its more than sorted. Very happy with the outcome. Next cruise for sure I'll have no excuses

  • 2 weeks later...

Installed wideband controller & extended display behind custom perspex face in vent. Logs heaps of stuff, including G-forces. Could be interesting to do before & after swaybar install.

That's a pretty neat setup! Dunc has his Informeter there, been thinking about it...

I got my rear toe arms today, shiny blue, looks the goods! Unfortunately Australia Post couldn't come through and I have to wait till next week for sway bars :(

Ordered catch can and new brake pads, should be here Monday too. Ended up just ordering QFM HPX, for the price figured if everyone was happy with them I'd give them a go! GSL Rallysport were very easy to deal with.

new rims are on. BBS LM reps, 19x9.5 +20 front, +5 rear. flush as you like. lowered another inch and wheel alignment on saturday. in love with the car all over again. pics soon!

Picked up a stereo finally. Clarion vx400a was on clearance at Autobarn.

New number plates too, square rear plates suit it so much better, just a shame transport sa cant put the wholes in the right place!

Wheres the pics of your exhaust? Have you quietened it up yet? :P

Let me know how you go with the headunit; looks good - I just have to work out what to do with my gauges!

Andrew is supposed to be emailing them to me, have to call him. He's building me a rear muffler to sort the epic noise issue. Gf is sick of it and I'm loosing my hearing!

You can keep your gauges if you go fold out single din, and rout the screen output to that screen you've already got. I'll be able to use the remote so I won't need to flip the screen out.

Looks like Brad has some work to do!

wow that deck is nice!

im very surprised they are selling head units with optical drives still. i think JVC have a head unit with USB inputs and ipod support and no optical drive.

Thats what i thought, especiallu for the price. Got it for just under $500 because it was clearance. Half the cost of other decks I was looking at.

I really didn't want to go without an optical drive. I have a huge CD and DVD collection, and while I have all my CDs on my iPod, I don't fancy ripping all my DVDs. But if I didn't want a DVD player it looks like a good option. The Sony with the storage draw is cool.

    • Did you pay with a credit card? I'd be putting a charge back through then finding a new sparky to sort it out.
    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
