LOL took a month for him to start work on it?

I take it he's doing this for free :whistling:

Contemplating getting the Nismo front bar...hmmm

Hmmm, they were refurbished and in primer WEEKS ago; but when he gets busy...

The Nismo bar is porn; if I could've found one, that's what I'd have.

your wifes gonna chop your balls off.

No BC's Ryan?

Yup, BCs. Looked at heaps of others but everyone is so happy with their BCs why bother? Seem like the most practical, and one of the cheapest, options.

Looks like I'm getting a set of DBA 4000 disks too, hopefully find out tomorrow

Ok so I've done something. Took the airbox out last night and now my Atessa light is showing on the dashboard. I believe there is a relay right near the airbox, which makes too much sense to not be the problem, but everything looks plugged in and ok.

Is there a common problem with this thing?

And it's the relay UNDER the airbox for the 4WD, not the ones next to it, isn't it Brad :whistling:

Something for the "What haven't you done to your Stagea" pile, I haven't ordered my BCs because Just Jap haven't got any stock. 7 day wait at this stage, which almost makes it worth going to Street to Track.

Brain fail. I think it's the check engine light that is showing up. Two years of no cars and longer with no Nissans.

Only other thing is plug in the boost controller/turbo timer harness in last night. Can of worms opened!

Did you unplug the OEM boost solenoid?

Id say check the error codes, theres a squence to get the CEL to flash which corrospondes to OBD2 error code list. The squence is documented here: http://www.m35stagea...ic.php?f=6&t=11 and the error codes: http://www.m35stagea...ic.php?f=6&t=12

Checked the codes. Realised how much I blink usually hah.

Pretty sure it was P0100 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction or P0110 Intake Air Temperature Sensor.

Either way, cleared the codes and it's fine now. I'm wondering if I clicked my car onto ON without the AFM plugged in or something..

 I have the same issue.

That'd definitely cause the CEL light to stay on for a while, it would eventually turn itself off apparently, but when I've had it happen to me I've always just cleared it.

If that was the cause, it shouldnt come back on now. Easy fix

yeah turning the car on without starting it WILL throw a CEL if the AFM isnt plugged in.

and dunc is right, it will clear itself after a few days, but you can clear it if you want yourself......

    • I was 99% sure the standard one is long enough to get there, you might just have to change the throttle orientation. If not, I remember someone having used an r31 cable instead, but that is probably harder to find than r33 by now...
    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
