Nah plenum isn't painted, just gave it a hit with a scale remover and autosol haha..

Bov pipe is a 3" straight alloy, I picked up a couple of nipples and gave to the welder with the original pipe so he could re create the same angles etc came out really good imo.

However i do get a bit of flutter at lower boost with the kompact if I drop the throttle.. Anyone tried softer springs with success?

Softer springs will help with the flutter, but it will open more at idle and cruise with vac behind it. If the flutter isn't bad just leave it, otherwise ring Turbosmart and get them to ship you the next softest spring.

Mine doesn't flutter at all, on the evo or the Stagea.

Plus your on over 30psi :D bet it's pretty quick

Actually makes more noise the less boost I spool the turbo to. Still almost silent using the stock airbox though, in both cars.

Yeah man, I'm after one, was wondering where he got it from. I reckon they are a nice subtle touch, you think so?

Yep I love it, my car has one. He cpuld be like me and had it come from factory like it

Hey mate, this was a random score. I joined a Facebook group "stagea owners club" it's NZ based.

One of the lads on their was selling his car which has the spoiler and kindly offered it for swaps with an original and cash his way. I went straight to the ATM lol.

I know lots of people after them and for some reason they are dam hard to get. Good luck on finding one.

As for the wheels they are wolf s36 18x8.5 and 9.5 245/45/18s offset I'm a little unsure measures roughly 20/30p. Lowered on bc golds no rubbing etc

Damn, I'll have to keep looking. I was hoping it may have been a site online, I don't really want to see if I can get one from Nissan direct ($$$$$$$$$$). I may see if I can find that group, being in NZ myself

Also, that plenum looks good, a flapper disc and autosol you say? hmmm.

Replaced cam cover gaskets today, new plugs plfr6's, new oil and filter ( royal 5w 30) and gave it a good degrease/ clean. Chuck the boost T in tomorrow and see if this turbos gonna handle 1bar haha.

Talk about carbon build up huh?! Too scared to lift the cam caps :s

Looks nice Nathan; did you have the lines made specially?

Just one thing; I have always oriented fittings toward the top of coolers, gravity takes care of bleeding all the air out of the core.

what neutral smilie? smile.gif <- that one?[/quote:da693d5855]

nah, you have to click on the 'View more Emoticons' link

it's this one--> :|

everytime i used this--> i never saw that neautral one, untill tonight

Did you just buy a kit or buy separate parts? Does the sandwich plate have a thermostat in it?

Nice install Nathan but cooler needs ideally to have fittings to top or will work with fittings to side but upside down can result in airlock which means that some or much of the cooler is not working.

Thanks Dale and KiwiRS4T.

Dale yeah I got the lines made up at Pritek.

Brick I bought all the parts separately and yeah the sandwich plate is a Mocal thermostatic one.

Didn't even think about an airlock issue I'll have a look how much play I have with the lines to try mount on top of the Reo bar. The lines are quite stiff though as they are steel braided inside and fittings are fixed in there orientation. Having to buy new lines to run in a different mounting spot will suck but I'll take a shit at it.

I was just thinking back where I saw the mounting orientation with fittings facing downwards and remembered it was on the mishimoto 350z install they did. So mounting the cooler with the fittings downwards is guaranteeing an airlock??

Hi Zach,

That's "interesting"...running different width wheels...have you had any issues with respect to the Attessa?

Hi Zach,

That's "interesting"...running different width wheels...have you had any issues with respect to the Attessa?

I'm running 9.5 fronts and 10 rears for over 2 years now with no Atessa issues.

I could barely notice any vibration caused by my mismatched rims using the same tyres. There was a slight vibration under acceleration though, only when the transfer case kicked in hard.

The more power you run, the more torque gets transferred, meaning more pressure goes to the clutch pack in the transfer case. This is likely to cause vibration as there is no slip on the clutches to accommodate the mismatched tyre sizes.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
