Hey, I just got my turboback delivered today and was looking at getting it installed before the weekend. I drove past Daalder and Dandy exhausts but they looked shut, So im guessing most places would also be shut. I was just wondering if anyone knew someone who could install it for me afterhours 5pm onwards South east Vic area.

Ended up finishing work early and getting it done at Dandy exhausts. Next time ill give you a call David. Will be putting on a returnflow intercooler sometime soon. I know they are easy jobs but I'd rather let someone who knows what there doing do the job for me just in case I damage anything.

Ive seen too much of their work already.

Get some tools and do it yourself, if you have trouble a few beers will usually have help around on the double.

What do you mean you seen too much of there work? Have they done a few dodgy jobs u know of? I only heard good comments about Dandy exhausts. I gave you a msg this morning not sure if I wrote the right number in my phone though lol. I trust myself changing the oil, but other stuff I gotta see how its done properly first before I give it a try.

LOL Dandy Exhausts. I used to go there until they charged me $100 for chopping an exhaust which was too long to fit the cat. All they had to do was cut cat back and re-weld flange. I was standing there watching them cut both the flanges off my cat then rewelding it on, checking the up pipe, etc then finally an hour later then realise it's easiest to cut a part of the catback off and re-weld the flange. Not sure if they know what they're doing anymore.

Yeah they were pretty expencive, charged me $220 for 1 and a half hours work. Lucky I won some money from an EPL multibet or I would have left lol, but I couldnt be stuffed booking or checking somewhere else though. This turboback didnt line up properly so they had to heat parts and bend it to fit. They are pretty dodgy with prices and not very customer friendly. Was good that they let me watch as they worked, but I could tell that they hated me being there. They did work pretty fast though. But there high prices and bad attitudes made it a bad experience and I wont be using them again.

Overall though the Kakimoto Regu r 06 sound is exactly what I wanted, Nice and quiet and flows good to.

Their attitude towards my car was pretty bad and that was with me standing 3 metres away from them watching, I wonder what they would have done if I wasnt there lol. Throwing all my parts against the wall letting it rebound onto the floor and they threw my new turboback into a pile of old random exhaust parts so when they took the old exhaust off I had to find my parts in the mess. They did have 2 workers who were really friendly but they wernt working on my car, Maybe there the ones who get them the good reviews on the car forums. The other 3 were just crap.

If you got the regu06 just wasted your money, go look in the rear cannon and youll see the 2 inch reducer restrictor in there to keep it quiet I made same mistake I put it on caused a restriction engine pinging though I did remove the restrictor after a lot of f**king around but yeah its not quiet anymore.

I checked this when I got the exhaust, I saw the other thread where people were saying they had a silencer and some didnt have one in theres, Mines got no restrictor. Shined a light down it and its open the whole way :)

I find that hard to believe, its not a case of lets make half the regu 06 exhuasts with restrictors and the other half without them there not obvious it looks like its meant to be there, Id be willing to put money on that its there but anyway aslong as your not running big power its not going to matter.

no reducer in mine was yours used

no reducer in mine was yours used

Mine was brand new. Ive seen a few of them and all have it. Like I said its not an obvious restrictor its made to look part of the muffler I couldnt tell at first. If any of you can be bothered take a pic of yours and Id be interested to see.

Pretty fast?

1.5hrs to install a cat-back exhaust is terrible.

Should take no more than 20mins at the most

It was a full exhaust not just a catback, It didnt line up 100% so they had to heat it up and bend it and let it cool down because the catback and mid muffler didnt meet up properly.(they heated the downpipe) They tried to charge me $300 all up because of the extra heating job, He said "everything we do costs money". Either way i'm not going back to them. They tried to make money from me from every possible way they could. $220 for fitting and a bit of heating was a big rip off, I just didnt care at the time because I just wanted it put on

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
