As said previously, if you sre going yo go this nuts, do a VH45 if you are that keen, alloy engine, so probabaly same weight or lighter for 1.9l more capacity, V8 sound, then strap 2 turbos to it.. If i was going to mess with a GTR, this would be what I would do, 1500+hp should not be *too* hard..

I like the v8 idea for insanity. I heard RIPS did a VH41dett in a GTR for someone in the UK, so its possible.

Or a Spool 3.4lt RB30.

Or a RIPS 3.3lt RB30.

Or a Nitto 3.2lt RB30.

Its possible to do a 3.2lt in an Rb26 block as well, the advantage being no fittment issues or adapter plates required. Nearly anything is possible if you have a fat enough budget.

The V8 idea sounds sick. Could you keep the AWD with the LS3 though. Yes alot of custom work but is it possible. If it's not then what's the point of having a rear-drive V8 Skyline, just go buy a Corvette or something. It would be a waste of a GTR if you don't keep the four-wheel-drive. You could do it with a non turbo R34 though. It would be a sick idea cos they're going really cheap now. Whole build including the car would be $30,000-40,000.

The tuner in the clip said that he's got more experience tuning 2JZ more than RB, so that's why

he swapped the engine.

Keep in mind that the labour cost in Thailand is not as expensive as in Australia, and 2JZ parts

are much easier to source in Thailand compare to RB.

But still I wouldn't do it to my car.....

Good son of rajab that thing is hideous, the R34 is boxy-ish and the supra is rounded. Together they look WRONG. The Supra looks like a shitbox next to the R34 (GT-R. It can look good but stock it's not even a competition.

No that car is real, I kid you not. I'd heard of it doing the rounds over there.

To the OP, I get what you want to do - it's called "Spending heaps of money on your car to make it worth less". It's like wearing your boxers on the outside of your pants - different, but not necessarily better.

If you really want to be controversial, get a turbo Falcon motor and drop that in - then you'll have 4.0 litres to play with.

i'd had the thought of doing that one day, but i don't think the engine would fit in the engine bay that easily (mainly due to the height of it).

I can see the shitty blotches

Or maybe it's just a shit photo...

    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
    • Continental have consistently beaten the absolute shit out of every other performance tyre in Wet/Damp/Cold conditions and give up a little bit of time (half a second at most) in the dry. Almost like it's engineered for German conditions or something. I'd def give those a try.
