Hey Andy, do you still offer installation at Ryde?

You did the install in my M35 last year.

I'd like to get one installed in my Evo which has a factory Sat Nav screen with TV.

Please let me know. Cheers!

Yes, Still doing the installs but not sure what I would find in an EVO..

Hi,

Any ideas if these Tuner boxes work in NZ ?, I know we have a strange audio codec here.

Cheers

Hi Michael, I believe they do. I have some config files (load by USB port) that allow for operation in most places with most systems. The samples I was sent last year didn't work here (was able to select all the European countries but they had wrong channel spacing) but fixed it with a new file in about 4 minutes. I'd be happy to give you money back if it doesn't work in NZ.

Cheers, Leon.

Hi Jason, welcome to the forums. PM replied.

Hey Commsman, the Asuka tuner, accessories, Relay (for reverse camera) and wiring diagram arrived safely on Monday. (One working day after payment was sent)

Thanks for shipping it so fast mate. Looks real nice, cant wait to do the install.

I'll let you know how i go.

Sorry if the question has been asked, have only read 4/6 pages.

Does anyone know if a similar setup would work for a V36?

If your screen has an aux input then it should work. Do you have any pics of the factory tuner?

Hi

I read elsewhere that these tuners may have a usb & sd card slot in them; or is that a different tuner?

If it is these, as I will be looking at getting one for my Stagea,

1: would you be able to run a nav program thru the sd slot, (as I have unlocked my navman and it runs garmin/tom tom etc off the micro sd card)?

& 2: Is the factory pop up nav screen touch screen enabled therefore utilising the nav program that I may run thru the sd slot?

Any suggestions if it isnt a touch screen are welcome.

G'day.

USB = yes, SD = no. These were supposed to come with SD slot but for some reason that didn't happen. USB is for loading new firmware (not likely you will need this), for playing media files & for recording live TV for playing back later. I would say most people would rarely use these functions.

To answer your other questions; 1 - no. 2 - no.

Suggestions.... CarPC with touch screen overlay (decent sized project) or portable GPS with suction cap for windscreen (much simpler project), lol.

The TV tuner has an AV input which other people have used to display GPS on the pop up screen. You just set up your phone to navigate where you want to go & then plug it in. Have a chat with Brad since you are in SA.

Thanks Commsman,

Bummer bout the sd slot, Oh well I'll just have to keep on using my unlocked navman; would of been nice to use the factory screen, much better than the 4.7" of the navman.

BTW I couldnt see the input on the pics of the asuka tuner and I couldnt understand the concept of rca > headphone plug????!!!

Your tuner should have come with a lead that plugs in as per this pic. The part that goes into the tuner looks like a stereo headphone plug.

If you can get an output from your phone to mate up with it, you will have GPS on your nav screen as soon as you apply 12V to the yellow wire. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if you need more info.

Cheers, Leon.

Ah-ha your pic looks different to the pic on the first page of this topic, its missing from the preview.

I cant use my phone for a gps, I'm poor and only have a K1, hence why Im using a Navman.

Its starting to make sense now.

    • I mean, I can confirm the TPS is at 100%.... I can confirm when we installed the TB and setup the cable that the TB was indeed fully open at max pedal travel.. the same 'curve' (WRT MAP vs MAP) existed with the previous setup/TB/manifold as well... No, we did not do a run with no intake connected. I would love to go back in time to do such a run to rule out the intake. It would have also been good to do a run with the airbox lid off. There's a test there where increased IAT vs more available air could be a positive tradeoff. I remember taking the lid off my R34 Turbo setup back in the day and noticing a monster increase, even if IAT's did go up. Could be similar. Hard to test unless I find a very deserted road.
    • That's actually encouraging to be honest. my motor was rebuild many years ago but it's probably done less than 30,000kms and fucc all limiter or drift, majority street / drag / roll racing. It'll be fine 💪🏼 I don't even have lines or a can for the cam breathers installed yet, there is zero oil residue or splatter on or around them, it drives beautifully so it seems healthy. Just a ticky lifter, yet they're almost brand new oem genuine Nissan and haven't done many kms at all...
    • Have you confirmed the throttle body goes to WOT (and stays there) during the run?
    • I'm having a problem. I think it was mentioned above somewhere but can't see it.  I'm stuck in the cycle of, sand, filler, low spot again, put filler, sand, low spot again, now i put filler again and a thicker portion which seems to have helped but I got low spots in other areas. In the image. Circled in red thats where the original low spot was and the shape is the same as the red out line. I've more or less fixed that (still low spot up the top but now I have low spots where the green circled part is.  Is likely the issue that I didn't start with a course sand paper? I sanded the filler with 240 to reduce the risk of not going to far but maybe the issue is that I'm only taking off enough material to remove some of the filler but not the high spots. I now started sanding with 120 and I think I'm seeing a difference. I did fix one dent the other 2 are f**ked and seems like I made another low spot which is indicated by the furthest green circle on the left handside. Any thoughts and solutions?   Also second image. All of these rock chips, can they be filled in with primer or do i need to fill them all with filler/putty? So many rock chips on mine lol.
