Toyota Chaser....nuff said i simply bought the wrong cars when i went shopping

I love 1j/2js...i love all rb's....i even like sr20s (they sound a bit poo but)

Who cares, we all love jap cars....just go after his holden imo, his daily is still a really really really fast car....as you can see weekly at the 1900 of them that enter @ WSID

an aircon vent aimed at my balls so my balls don't get hot.

wisen up - doesn't matter what you drive! ALL our cars are better than a hyundai. and that's what counts!

I laughed so fkn hard at that. Prior to reading this thread I'd been really put off soarers because of a mate of mine's, which had nothingn till like 5k rpm then had heaps, it was really not fun to drive.

They're damn cheap too

oh in case any of you HAVEN'T noticed... i'm just saying things to piss NEE-SAN off. i have nothing to prove.

but seeing as he made a very original joke in comparing soarers to boats:

in stock form.. taken from wikipedia:

neo RB25 = 206 kW at 6400 and 362 Nm @ 3200 rpm

VVTi 1jz = 210 kW at 6200 and 379 Nm @ 2400rpm

^^^however both these figures are as always... rumoured to be higher

these differences are minor. but still. put the two against each other.. 1j makes moar power and moar torque at lower revs.

and it can do it a lot more reliably and do it for a lot more km than the RB25 can unfortunately...

...and now on to your hilarious yacht comment. firstly - i don't care that you have said that. all i'm saying is, it's not funny, it's not original, and you're not creative.

secondly - please, KEEP thinking that. it will help keep knuckle dragging mouth breathing halfwits like you out of soarers.

but let's have a bit of a chat, shall we?

my 1997 vvti soarer Lpackage toyota weighs: 1,540kg

a comparatively aged nissan skyline GTT weighs: 1,410 kg

okay so it's a total of 130kg heavier.

but let's have a quick look at the things MY SOARER has from the factory that a GTT R34 does NOT have.

toyota's safe-T-cell side impact technology

cruise control

sunroof

air purifier

leather upholstery

an aircon vent aimed at my balls so my balls don't get hot.

larger seating capacity and more leg room for my rear passengers

electric seats. with electric lumbar support

digital display which displays the outside temp. how much fuel i have left in my tank. the time. what gear i'm in etc

a digital dash

TEMS electronic in-cockpit damper adjustable suspension

electronic controlled blow off valve

traction control

torsen LSD

and lasty. my soarer does ALL THIS and does it for about 10.4km per litre. oh. and i have very tight coilovers. soooooooo... kinda not a boat anymore.

there is literally NO comparison between soarer and skyline. their price from new will reflect this. they are not and were never marketed to same markets.

soarer is a dedicated luxury sport coupe

skyline is a sport coupe with a sedan counterpart

for what it's worth - the Jzz30 soarer had a career innings of ten years. it had a facelift in 1996. and received a few minor improvements along it's time line...

..but it had an innings of ten years.

skyline went through three generations in this time... :)

reality is - they're BOTH awesome cars..

Come at me Bro,

your not pissing me off, I dont understand why people cant have a discussion without being angry about this sort of stuff.

You did say, the Soarer is a better car then a Skyline in one of your previous posts, which was obviously a bit of stiring which of course I took and gave it back ?

Does that mean we have to wear oversized leather jackets, tie our arms together and have a knife fight whilst surrounded by our peers ?

No !

I like the skyline, because I want more of a sports car, the features you have listed are things that are not important for a sports car, but obviously something you care about having since your not about driving a race car on the street, and that's totally cool.

I get along with all the car ethusiast groups, because I Appreciate cars as a whole, some I like some I don't, well except the VW crowd those guys are homo's LOL jk.

Cmon, a seasoned troll like yourself must be able to see the mirth in a lot of what I've had to say with an underlying message that the JZ engine isn't the king of all engines as people have been led to believe.

The major scene magazines and media are directly responsible for this, as is the fast and the furious with its americacentric snapshot of the tuning scene which then influences a GLOBAL audience.

Remember, Japan is the heart and home of this stuff, and the the relative support and tuning of the JZ is quite underwhelming considering the how the rest of the world seems to be going.

The adelaideprosound dude was the only guy I truly had a go at because he was sprouting bullshit about cylinder heads and involving this thread in overly substantial levels of dickpulling.

For what it's worth, most of my comparison were about the RB26 And the 2JZ, and not Soarers and Skylines.

Anyway, Haters gonna hate, post some tits or I will do a 4wd skid on your lawn and poop in your mail box.

*a small sigh*

again... most people think of this when they think of soarers:

^^^dont laugh too loud.. the owner of this car is european, was involved in a car accident and needed an auto car due to being wheelchair bound... this car also happens to have single turbo 2J

but anyway - when people think of soarer. they think of altezza tail lights and airbrushed paint jobs.. with 20inch tempe rims.

the following is a collection of some of my favourite soarers.

^^^i now own this car..

Does that mean we have to wear oversized leather jackets, tie our arms together and have a knife fight whilst surrounded by our peers ?

no it doesn't mean that... but can we PLEASE do that!?!?!?! i have ALWAYS wanted to. me and my friend will used to act out fights like this in the coles staffroom.

...me and my friend will got written up for it.

.......me and my friend will regrtted NOTHING.

anyway - as for rest of post - when you put it that way then yeah of course sorry if i peeved you!!!! omg i think i just downloaded a virus.

fuuuuuuuuccckkkkk

oh wait no it was just skype. anwyay

yeah. like - some people like soarers, some people like skylines - as you said... skylines are a "sports" car, which kinda cements my point.. there's no comparison between a soarer luxo coupe... and a skyline sports car

*man hug* <<<<for the knife fight reference!!!

for what it's worth - the Jzz30 soarer had a career innings of ten years. it had a facelift in 1996. and received a few minor improvements along it's time line...

..but it had an innings of ten years.

Erm following this logic, why would you buy a soarer when you could have bought a 300zx? it had an 11 year innings.

Just focus myopically on the SOARER part. Just say "Hey....did you just say....Soarer ??"...."you have a....Soarer...right? I heard that right?"

It doesn't have to make sense if you are giving people shit...you just have to act like you believe it and keep at it! (thank you George Costanza )

You have to take those figures with a grain of salt. The vvti single turbo engine is NOT more powerful than an rb25det.

toyota soarer ; 1jz vvti stock single turbo with BPU's at 12psi = 239rwhp

r33 skyline ; rb25det stock single turbo with BPU's at 10psi = 256rwhp.

Both vehicles were on the same dyno. 20min apart.

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
